Thankfully, I go to bed early and missed this very troubling news or I would have had a restless night thinking about my favorite sport essentially going down the tubes because of one thing - $$$ and it really sucks.
1st and foremost - after reading through these threads, anyone criticizing Jim or Chris for sitting on a story before getting multiple sources to confirm is completely off base.
We all know that they do a tremendous job here and if you don't think so, you need to sober up or either try to think straight with a reasonable mind for a second.
So this is what it's come down to? Pitt gets 3 star players - develop the heck out of them to the point where we're is in a position to be a national contender and then this new system blows it up.
Unbelievably sad for college FB.
Now the $ is under the table - over the table and through the table - the NIL has just ruined the sport.
1st, the NCAA would allow *only* peanut butter sandwiches but not jelly - oh hell no - probation if you get caught doing that.

Before you even get *in* the transfer portal Riley and his big pocketed USC donors just completely blew up college FB as we knew it and made a lasting joke of what the NCAA was and is.
If Addison and Kancey and Hill and whomever else leave Pitt because of this, it will be a very sad day for college FB and one that if not somehow constrained will ultimately kill the sport as we knew it.
