Women Won This Morning

Only 2 for 14 from 3. And 17 turnovers.

On the good side, Amber Brown had 12 rebounds and Emy Hayford had 10. Course we missed a ton of shots.

BTW, four freshmen and the JUCO transfer played over 60% of the playing time today... Growing pains galore...

Go Pitt.

Well those freshmen along with the JUCO (Green) and Bugg just happen
to be the best players on this team, so 60% seems ok to me. Hell it could
even be a higher % and I wouldn't argue against it.
I see improvement and after what Coach White did with last year's
non talented group tells me we're going to see a lot more improvement
this year. They're talented, but young and inexperienced.

Tell ya what, we all know what Bugg brings to this team...but Amber
Brown is IMO even better than what she's shown so far.
How about Hayford?...a lot better than what I expected. Watch her
go both hands on layups depending on what side she's on.
I like these frosh a lot!

The freshmen class playing time will increase when Ezeja becomes available. Great to see Hayford coming on. And Amber Brown looks like a star in the making - so athletic.

Looks like we played quite a bit of the small lineup today.

Only saw the highlights from today, and of course they are highlights, but looked like we played some encouraging offense in the second half as far as ball movement and cuts...

Go Pitt.

We've discussed this before in this way.....the coach just might play
his best players
.
While I obviously realize the importance of having some height on the
floor, it's also important to have your best players on the floor.
That's why he's the coach...he has to make that call. Height?
Best players? Combination of both?

Can even be opponent specific.

Good point. How about today, when Coach White went small, what was
on the floor for the other team?

I don’t know as I was away from home and didn’t watch the game.

However, looking at their roster they are not a very tall team. Only one player at 6-1 and two at 6-0 and I believe only 1 starts. I would assume a small lineup would do fine vs them. They are far below ACC level competition, IMHO.
