they have called four charges on Pitt already this game. Three of them were absolutely awful calls. Unfortunately for Pitt two of those fouls were called on Kiesel (one she deserved and one she clearly did not).

The bad thing is that if these refs are "charge happy" it will very much work against Pitt, because Pitt's off ball players don't try for charges, they try to block shots. They do a pretty good job of it. But at least so far today, it looks like flopping might be the correct strategy.

The first one.. was one of the worst I have ever seen.. just terrible.. TC permitted to have all of the physicality and Pitt called for every contact.

And now there have been...

five charge calls and four of them were terrible calls. Now I have to wonder if the ref even understands what the little arc on the floor is for, because when an off ball defender has their foot on the line it's not a charge. You know, kind of by rule. It probably wasn't a charge anyway, because the defender moved up into Carey when she was going up for the shot. But when the defender has their foot on the line none of that makes any difference because if the player's foot is on the line it isn't a charge.

It would be a real shame if we lost this game in the second half.. in the first half.. all that TC did was draw fouls and hit 3 goofy looking 3s....---

They hit a couple....

of those threes from two full steps behind the line. And one of the players who made one of them isn't even a decent three point shooter.

Ah well, sometimes you can do everything right on defense and the ball just goes in.

I am waiting for the first.. THE FIRST call to go our way with 16:00 left in this game.. whether it's a deflection out of bounds, a rebound.. we cannot get one.

I didn't see the 1st half but I believe you guys that there were a lot of bad calls. There are 13 minutes to play in the 2nd half and I've watched the entire 2nd half and have not seen one bad call so far.

that I've had much of a problem with are most of the charges they called in the first half. Otherwise the refs are letting them play and not calling much of anything. Without the charges they've played 30 minutes and Pitt has been called for four fouls and Chattanooga has been called for 5.

Yep, this half has been clean.. but there were a number of charges in the first half that kept the game much closer than it should have been.. 3 of the calls were very, very bad IMO

Yeah, just watching the 2nd half and with < 4 minutes to play, the refs IMO have been really good.
