Falling behind 18 to zip is not a good way to start a BB game, but that's what the women's team did today at Princeton. It was 28-8 at the end of the first quarter - after that, Pitt was competitive, but it didn't matter as Pitt lost 61 to 47.
The bad:
--Pitt didn't score for the first 5 minutes of the game. Didn't see the game but according to the play-by-play, Pitt missed 6 layups in that first 5 minutes. Yikes.
--Pitt was out rebounded 52 to 24. Double yikes.
--Pitt was 1 for 11 from 3.
--Cassidy Walsh went 1 for 7.
--Stasha Carey only took 4 shots - made 1.
The possibly good:
--Kalista Walters continues to make shots.
--Pitt only had 13 turnovers (versus 20 for Princeton)
--Cassidy Walsh played 25 minutes.
--After the first quarter, Pitt outscored Princeton 39 to 33.
Pitt is now 6 and 4. Pitt plays Rider, American, and Duquesne, all at the Pete, before conference play begins against ND at the Pete on Jan. 3rd.
Go Pitt.
