Would Pitt even be allowed to play home games?

Right now, there's a 25 person limit on indoor gatherings and while that probably will change by late fall/winter, if it doesn't, I don't see how Pitt would he able to use the Pete for games. In that case, what would they do? Play all road games? Maybe play home games in Ohio or WV? I could see the Wheeling Civic Center being an option and maybe fans could even go depending on WV restrictions at that point.

We aren’t going to be playing “home” games in OH or WV.

Sounded like a legitimate question to me.
Ok. Well to answer the question, if they continue the limit of 25 to November, and considering the amount of tests these people will take and how the pandemic barely came to Pittsburgh they will not, they’ll do it like every other indoor sport. Or they’ll use the pod rule. They’re not gonna travel to another state to play home games. That’s just silly.

now there may not be home games. We still may not play OOC games and there may be bubbles. But to suggest we’re gonna play home games in another state, aka traveling there, renting out a space we’re not familiar with, etc, is absolutely ludicrous. We’re already burning through cash with this staff

You are banking that the indoor limit will be raised by then. I think it will too. However, if isnt, how are you going to play a game with 25 people?

- 3 refs
- 1 scorekeeper
- 2 HC's
- Pitt dresses 10 players
- Visitors dress 9
- Game couldn't be televised because no TV people would be allowed

- no assistant coaches, managers, floor sweepers, etc.

Is this what they would do? Or would they play on the road or Ohio or WV? I'll hang up and listen.

Is it 25 people or 25% capacity?

PA High schools are playing volleyball Indoors at this time.

Right. I saw the plan for our HS. Its something like:

1 coach for each team
9 players for each team
2 referrees
1 trainer
1 scorekeeper
1 administrator

When I saw it I didn't understand why an administrator had to take the place of a player.

They would make exceptions and put them into pods. You can’t be this insanely obtuse to not realize this is getting done. Everything that will pump money into state’s pockets have been protected by the orders.

let’s say for instance you’re right. Simple fix. Put the benches in the suites. All of assistants and bench go into suites and watch from there while head coaches 10 players and 3 refs are out on floor. Table can then have 10 ppl. TV way up top doesn’t count towards total, obviously.

Do you think this is more likely than sending hotel $ to Ohio or WV as well as a gym rental money, bus etc? Cmon man. Biden will be elected by then and people will stop caring.

We are playing football games without fans why would basketball be any different?

Currently in PA, high school volleyball is playing, but many of the substitutes have to sit in the hallway and someone must go get them if they are being substituted into the game. The gyms have a 25 person limit.

The limit is widely absurd. Just space people 20 ft apart with masks and it will be just fine indoors. Limit of 25 is moronic overkill.

I think whether outdoors or indoors, the limit has to be based on square footage. Having the Pete be at 25 and some tiny banquet room also be at 25 is just stupid. I mean if it holds till basketball season, which I doubt, benches will have to be

I doubt that Pitt’s AD is overly concerned about this limitation since Heather has the women’s VB team playing BC at home on Oct. 9th.
