Considering we’re almost done with non-conference games for everyone, this is a nice boost to solidify a respectable NET, that gets much harder to shuffle around when conference play starts. That helps Pitt from an analytics standpoint
It's sad (but true) that OSU winning yesterday was bigger for our resume than us winning. And I was more excited about it. I'm not happy saying that but its true.
Not a ton. 4 vs Q3 and 3 vs Q4 though 2 of those could end up Q3. Just as bad that they only have 4 q1 opps left and might only have 3 if Lville tanks. Not really. Our win was more important because a Q3 loss is pretty devastating. You cant have more than like 3 of those and we play a lot of Q3 games in the ACC.
Not really I’m relieved we won but it was expected and would only matter if we lost. But even if we did it’s more important to have top wins in non conference. But again glad for both wins but more excited OSU raised their profileNot really. Our win was more important because a Q3 loss is pretty devastating. good cause there may be no Q1/2s left the way this league is looking. The most important games that Pitt plays for the rest of the season are the Q3/4 games. BC, GT, Miami, teams like that. A loss in those games hurts you more than wins over Clemson, SMU, UNC. Rutgers didnt make it, either last year or the year before, because they had too many Q3/4 losses although they had a good NET and good Q1/2s.
I agree. But they have the luxury of not having to win the tougher games in conference because of their OOC so any big wi by one of our non conference opponents helps that. We always have to avoid bad losses if we can. But we get more leeway because of what we did OOC this year. The most important games that Pitt plays for the rest of the season are the Q3/4 games.
