Wtf kickoff times with an 11am game vs Ohio

Big 12 and Big Ten teams play 11 a.m. games regularly, including high profile conference games. Take a look at Wisconsin, Nebraska or Texas’ schedule when it comes out. Heck, the Red River Rivalry between OU and Texas is played at 11 a.m. local time in Dallas every year. It’s really only a big deal at a place like Pitt where fans obsess over game times.
Well there are plenty of B1G fans who hate the 11 AM kickoffs....

Louisville with Chryst was 11a

That was because Texas A&M @ Louisiana Tech was hurricanes out earlier in the season and they made the game up that day. They gave it a 9PM EST start and did 11, 2:15, 5:30, 9. If not for that game, it would have been a nooner.

Looking at the schedule, I'd say that there will be a quadrule-header on ACCN in Week 4 also based on the number and types of games.

App St @ UNC
Central Michigan @ Miami
Ball State @ NC State
Old Dominon @ UVa

I'd guess that Elon @ Wake gets a ACC Network Extra, UCF @ Pitt gets noon on ESPNU, or quite possibly 8PM on ACCN and Charlotte @ Clemson gets ESPN2 or ESPNU.

There were some rumblings about Raycom keeping some of their Fox Sports South syndicated package. You know, the games that RSNs like ATTSN pick up. I wonder if a game like Elon @ Wake Forest, the type of game that would be a stream-only ACC Network Extra game would be televised as part of the Raycom RSN package. Also, there are 3 or 4 FCS scrimmages in Week 2 that didn't even land on ACCN. Some of these games could be Raycom RSN games as well.

Week 5 seems pretty cut and dry

Noon Delaware @ Pitt (Pirates are home)
3:30 Holy Cross @ Syracuse
7:00 Wake @ BC

Going to be so different to watch ACC Saturday night games. The ACC rarely had Saturday night games that didn't involve Clemson or Florida State

So you think probably the 11a kicks only on the 'quadruple-header' days?

Yea, there's no way they are going to do 11AM games as part of a normal triple-header Saturday. Those will be noon, 4:00, and 7:30. BTW, I love how they are giving the noon game 4 hours to finish since games usually run longer than 3 and a half hours. I woulda done noon, 4, 8 but whatever.

Looks like only Weeks 2 and 4 for quadruple-headers this season. So, for this year and going forward, this will only happen a couple times in September. No big deal.

Yeah, I can see the quadruple headers only being in September when there are a lot of crappy OOC games. On top of that, they are trying to fit as many games on the network in order to get carriage. When a fanbase will miss a game on a channel they don't have, but puts a lot of pressure on the cable company.

Everybody has complained about noon time kickoffs forever... Well, you got your wish.... It's now at 11:00 AM... So stop complaining....

Normally, I can't travel to games so I'm just glad they'll be on TV more.

From a player's perspective, 11 AM blows.

Maybe Narduzzi can use that to recruit against Big Ten, SEC, and Big 12 schools who play 11AM games multiple times per year.

I think they care a little, but from a player's standpoint, it's really not a big deal. If it was, nobody would go to the Big Ten, Big 12, or SEC where 11AM kicks are a way of life

TV dictates when you play. But the whole pregame routine takes the same amount of time, regardless of the kickoff time. When you eat. What you eat. How you prep. All affected.

Pitt game against UNC is at 8 on Nov. 14
Steelers play Browns at 820 on Nov. 14
Got no luck with that game time either, was hoping for 6 pm right after work game at Heinz for Pitt.

I don't think players give a rats a*s about kickoff times. It'

Trust me. Players absolutely do.

Why should we trust you??? It shouldn't bother them!
Oh I get it, it upsets their studies and academic endeavors. LOL!

I played college sports.
I adjusted to the schedule day, afternoon, night, weekday, & weekends.

So what it was just a schedule if you're a real dedicated athelete you get ready to perform according to the schedule.

Why should a schedule 11 am, 12 noon, 3 pm bother a college athlete. If you make the pros your schedule could be 1 sunday, 4sunday ,8 sunday, 9 Monday or thurs 8 pm or a game in Europe?? Fly back to the US time change, jet lag, play sunday at 1.

If it bothers college athletes it shouldn't Mr Trust Me!

If you worried about going out the night before, getting up early for an 11 am game, than you're not a dedicated athlete!

Players want to play in front of a bigger and livelier crowd. That’s an evening game, that’s not at 11am. No one wants to play football at 11am.

That shouldn't be the driver for a college athlete or for that matter a pro athlete.

At most venues 11 , noon, 1 pm might be a difference of 5k people.

Players play for the team and themselves not the crowd.
If you're only playing for the crowd, a full house, you should be a bench player not a starter!

Most college stadiums aren't full with the exception of maybe 30 programs!

Noone might not want to play football at 11 am but the game is scheduled for 11 am so they play!

I wish it were earlier. Gets me home early enough that I still have some of my day to do something. But this year, I may be missing more games than attending. Against UVA, I'll be on vacation in the Grand Tetons. Hopefully, I'll get to a few games.

Mrs Buffett and I will be there.
We come in Fridays now to avoid the squirrel hill tunnel Saturday traffic issues.

See all of you at the game!

11am kickoffs are awesome. Y'all whine about anything.
What are you talking about you don't go to games , buy tickets, or donate to PITT sports.
What a fake!
Yet you tell others they're whiners for not liking 11am games.
I will bet alot that you won't be there.

And as I’ve told folks, I don’t live close enough to go to games. And I accidentally donated to athletics for Pitt’s day of giving so you can’t even use that anymore! Tough luck!

Yes, you were a college athlete now, too. Are you Walter Mitty?
