WVUcc loses Aaron Lewis, 4 star to UM

big loss, will staind the program for sure. Its been awhile since they had a 4 star DE. Lewis had an Epiphany to go to Michigan, and now WVUcc is on the outside, just fading away.

You're welcome to your views but I don't see the point reveling in the miseries of other programs, rivals or not. WVU has been more successful on the field than we've been the past couple of years.

I get your excitement that WVU lost a recruit to Michigan. I bust on one of my close friends all the for being a Pitt fan. Having said that I had to double check Michigan's board to make sure Lewis didn't get promoted to a 4 star after choosing Michigan. On rivals he is still a 3 star. Unless of course you are using another sites ranking profile which really isn't comparing apples to apples.

I get the gloating (when something to gloat over) with rivals. That's what sports is mostly about, forget the bs sportsmanship, spirit of competition blah blah ... 99% is sticking it to your rival.

However it almost always is foolhardy to gloat on mid cycle recruiting. A hundred things can happen. The other thread gloating about recruiting being ranked over PSU? In June? You crazy? That's a nearly certain setup for eventual counter-mockery.

WVU lost a guy to blue blood. That's great, don't get me wrong. But who honestly doesn't think there's a chance of that happening to us before Dec?

And PSU won't sit on their wallets with recruits until signing day. They lost a couple recently sure. But they are almost certain to end up top 15. This is what they exist for after all.

We have nothing to gloat about. We've been a mediocre program for 30+ years now. There is nothing happening right now that indicates that we're going to be anything more than that going forward. Yes, I know we got some 3* and maybe a 4* recruit in there, but we know nothing about how they'll develop. I'm waiting and seeing if Narduzzi can develop anyone into a decent player and get a team on the field that can actually win 9+ games every year for more than 3 years in a row. Until that happens, we can't brag about anything.

Only thing to gloat over is the scoreboard. I thought this board decided a long time ago that recruiting championships are meaningless.

Hey it's ok to have a little fun, gloating over 'winning' in recruiting over a rival is fine...if the recruiting campaign is actually over! December LOI day, Feb LOI day, if we're sitting above WVU and/or PSU somehow, then gloat away, what's the harm. But not when there are 6+ months left..

Excellent post McKee by the time December gets here Pitt's, PSU's and Wvu's signed LOI will not have the names of many of June's commits on them.Its sometimes easier to get them to commit then to keep them,especially those that live 1000 miles away.
