X and Horton benched

X is such a feast or famine tape player .... it makes sense to put him on the bench and try Femi or somebody else at the point.
Have to think this is disciplinary not just shaking things up.
It’s on the regional sports networks. AT&T in Pittsburgh. No clue what any others are.
If only the ACC published a list of which RSNs were carrying the game for these kinds of games.

Maybe the ACC's webs site name is just too confusing for some people. They should have just named it something like theACC.com, then maybe people could find it.

The move by Capel paid dividends and X responded like a man.
Not starting X allowed him to watch the play of the game and not commit a few dumb fouls. Could this be a recipe

I told you a few days ago Capel should bench X and start Femi and have X come off the bench. You of course like you always do criticized me and made snarky remarks. Funny how Capel did just that and it worked to perfection. Hmmmm.
Great video and shows what kind of coach Capel is. That's why I will always hold out hope that he can eventually put it all together here.

I think Capel was ready to do that if X would have struggled. He didn't start(which I said and you of course gave me snarky comments) and once he came off the bench he was playing well. So obv in that case he wasn't going to be taken out. You acted all incredulous that I would dare suggest starting Femi over X and whaddya know, Capel did just that.
He came in 3 minutes into the game and sat 1 additional minute .

Spots means barely? Really? I would bet anything that if X came into the game and struggled he would have been back on the bench for a few minutes. Then he'd be back out on the court. If he struggled he'd go back to the bench. That's what I meant by spots. But you claimed no way Capel would ever start Femi over X and obv you were dead wrong. Like you usually are.

You lost immediately after Femi started and Xavier was benched. You claimed in your own snarky way that it was stupid for me to suggest that and no way it would happened. Um, it happened soon after. So you lost buddy. Nice try though.
X and Horton likely didn't start because they both got T's late in the ND game. In the past when this happened, Capel benched X to start a 2nd half because of a first half T.
Although he didn't say it in the press conference, I believe this was more about the T's and less about their recent performance in games.
Like Souf said, they both came in within a few minutes. If this really was performance related, neither would have been in quite as early, especially since the game was either tied or a 2 point game when both entered.
We need X to play well to win and tonight he did. But to think if he struggles during parts of games, that he is going to be benched, is just not going to happen. Femi is a nice player that is going to continue to get better, but it is not hard to see that even for all his flaws, the offense runs much better when X is on the floor.
It is ludicrous to think X would only play spot minutes regardless of why he started yesterday's game on the bench. He is too important to the team.
