There is no question Duke is paying players. And not $100. But, coach K likely isn't dumb enough to talk about it on the phone like Miller.

That's the part about this that simply amazes me. There are others who could have, would have and should have done this on Miller's behalf.

It would have made it any less wrong. But why was he on the phone.

Even Pete Bell didn't have anything to do with promising or delivering the cash to Ricky Roe and getting the tractor to his dad.

Hockey and baseball allows players to have agents.

Baseball has only allowed actual agents for a year or two. Before that kids could have "advisors", but they were not allowed to act as agents.

And yeah, that was a dumb rule.

I suspect Pitt was not involved--or at least not recently. It is a reasonable suspicion given that the past few years subpar recruiting results may have been due, at least in major part, to being unwilling to pay up to agents. Lets hope so.

Likely no one imagined they were being wire tapped by the FBI. The NCAA doesn't wiretap. No one probably new the FBI was involved at the time.
