I'm going Offensive tackle. Our line has been injured and struggling the past two years. We need some help...badly.

i say a dominant MLB or WR. we saw what Larry fitz did at pitt, unfortunately even the Best WR with little surrounding talent only gets you an 8 - 4 record in a bad big east..

I'd say DL but looking at aaron donald, who had the best DL season in the history of pitt football, again still doesnt take you over the edge..

Yeah, probably WR. Next would likely be DE. My college list would look a lot different from my pro list. Even RB would be pretty high in college.

Doesn't matter. A 5 star might also suck, but if he is good then we won't be able to afford to keep him.

I was assuming he meant the 5 star would be like 1st Round good. I think a dominant WR gets you more wins than any other position besides QB.

But if your OL can't handle 4 DLs, it won't matter. Like against Miami when Rod didn't have time to get Larry the ball. But, a single great OL can only block one got.

QB is the position with the most potential to change game, and even when having the guy we still lost to Western Michigan, or whatever jabroni program it was.

We simply can't compete.

Some are saying that might have been the greatest defense of all time so let's keep things in perspective. Give me a 1st Round WR and we'll beat Virginia and Georgia Tech.

Larry was one of the best WRs of all time. He dominated beyond what most first rounder WRS or 5 star recruits can do.

OT or a DL.

There aren’t many good ones in the portal. You have to get them at the high school level, or you don’t get them.

And their hit rate is high, so it’s worth the money.

Yeah this or DE .

Maybe CB to eliminate half the field like Revis used to

CB is still just too dependent on the rest of the CBs and safeties.

Somebody above mentioned Miami’s D (obviously not ‘24 team) above. Miami’s secondary this past season was horrific. Arguably the worst in P4. It alone cost them a playoff spot.

Yet one of their corners was first team FR All America. One good corner isn’t enough to prevent a secondary from being G5 worthy.

An elite corner’s impact on the game is far less than an elite WR’s impact.

Maybe a kicker who can nail 60 yarders regularly. Seriously, the discussion is a WR or othrr star cant win games per se. A clutch kicker could win some games and be a solid advantage. I’d rather have a 5 star head coach tjough.

Well -
We’ve seen having a single dominant player isn’t enough to create wins .
Revis , Shady, Larry , Aaron Donald , etc

With Eli at QB, definitely a 5-star WR. That would be a game changer for this offense.

Until Eli is injured a couple games later

I hope Eli becomes half as good as folks here seem to think he already is .
Because he was extremely mediocre last season.
Which is fine for a first year starter
