One last nugget of hope - I have had two people and now a third tell me the Kevin Keatts/same search firm smoke screen angle. Just sayin
If Barnes is this dumb the Gallagher picked the wrong AD. He picked Narduzzi without an AD so maybe Gallagher should just do this himself.
And why do you hire a search firm? Why have an AD if they are just going to delegate this to a search firm? Waste of tax payer dollars.
Stallings name could be out there to decrease expectations to the point where anybody else will look acceptable. Could be a way to get BK hired because he is obviously better than Stallings.
So that the school can contact coaches and gauge their interest without the school actually having to contact coaches and gauge their interest.
Plus when you're talking millions a year, your internal background checks aren't enough.
Yeah, Scott Barnes isn't looking into a half a dozen guy's backgrounds before he makes his choice. He hired someone to do that for him. Theoretically his time is better spent elsewhere.
Seach and audit seems like 2 different things to me. People who hire "firms" in general seem like they can't do their job. I'm in IT and the most incompetent people are the ones relying on consultants.
Hopefully stockpiling fire extinguishers for the dumpster about to explode into flames/
better spent doing what? Watching Nova make the final 4 and 4 ACC schools playing tomorrow? This is the biggest hire he is going to make for a long time.
When the plan blows-up, it's easier (and safer) to dump the blame on the consultant. Isn't that how it works?
I was implying that we shouldn't use a phrase like 'better spent' until we know what he is actually spending his time doing; hiring Kevin Stallings ain't exactly spending your time wisely!
I don't claim to spend $$ on Pitt sports, my disposable money goes to my child. But if those connections are true, people who spend big money on this program have to revolt don't they?
