To be fair, The defense did have two huge turnovers at the beginning (including the pick six) that created the early momentum for the team and have had a few really nice stops late in the half

They regularly give up the momentum after Pitt scores by allowing big plays.

Seriously though, every stop in action there are commercials, its insane.

There is a fixed number of commercial breaks each quarter. The more they get out of the way early like this the fewer there are to take later in the quarter.
