With the transfer portal, how much are coaching staffs putting into developing younger players? If they expend time and resources, there's a chance their young guys transfer for playing time or a good pay-for-play deal. You're also counting on experienced players coming in and performing, when that hasn't been the case.
Just what we saw play out at QB this year (and I'll admit, I assumed PJ was going to be better with his former OC here), maybe the guy that had and could've developed would've been the best option all along.
