That team kicked off my love for Pitt baskeball. the top 6 players were all homegrown Pittsburgh kids. Billy Knight led that team. I was 13 at the time. I got to play against some of those players in summer leagues in later years. Got to know Tommy Richards a bit, played against him a lot. Tim Grgurich, the assistant coach used to come to our high school practices a lot as he was recruiting my teamate Stu Lyon.
