Madden had one hell of a slap shot. He was a power okay specialist. The problem for him though is he was a pylon.
he’s a talented guy in his career. People whine and cry about him, and yeah he often has no clue and bad takes about Pitt athletics, and that makes him unbearable at times. But that’s why I like my radio dial.
its a slow time of the year for sports news. some twitter aching about the name but in the long run, no one really cares. it's a silly name and steeler fans are saying so but it's not like anyone is threatening to boycott games.
He was actually critical of Ben for Ben’s tweet about the name change. That surprised me.
a sports talk show on an alternative rock radio station isnt exactly setting yourself up for success either.

I totally believe that. I have friends and associates who have spent time working with Ron Cook and Bob Smizik and they were both beyond casually uncivil. My friends are nothing but polite and engaging so I can’t imagine it was they who were the problems. These two were (still are, I suppose) absolute cranks of the worst magnitude; their portrayal as such in broadcasts they’re on, seems to be the real thing, similar To MM. I don’t think MM is quite as ancient as those guys, but no spring chicken. So it seems like something about old fossil sports media in Pgh makes them think they are entitled to awful behavior. I’d attribute it to booze in Cooks case, he and Tom Bradley are heavy imbibers, but I don’t know about BS (heh) or MM. Guys you’d think would thank God every day for being able to make a living doing something so easy and frivolous but they seem the most miserable pricks on earth. I’ll guess it’s because the national media never recognized their ‘greatness’.
