Here's a sobering thought for you all:

Curious to know if you (or others that had cataract surgery) noticed some floaters and cloudiness on the new lens post-surgery? I have a follow-up visit with my eye doc later today so I'm sure he'll let me know that it's normal. But just wanted to ask those who've had this surgery how long it takes before you "see" total results? Thanks!
As I recall it was 3-4 months before my vision stabilized. I have retinopathy as well, and that causes floaters. Now I see 20/20 and 20/25 and have for several years. Glare reman San issue at times. I wear shades outside Al out all of the time in daylight hours.

OT: Pirates Ke'Bryan Hayes a bust?

From the Post-Gazette:

"third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes, this little nugget from the Post-Gazette’s Andrew Destin appeared: “As he has said publicly before, Hayes acknowledged that his lower-back issues will likely linger for the rest of his career and life.”

That’s comforting. Dude is a bust.

The best part about that "little nugget" is Joe Starkey writing that today, essentially admitting that he has paid no attention to what has gone on in the past, like as if this is some damning piece of new information.

Nope. As @Joe the Panther Fan just pointed out, there’s no way you can realistically call him a bust.

Wake / FSU

That was Ty-Laur Johnson, who played at Louisville last season.

But yeah, he scored 0 points in 24 minutes last night, and he's shooting 22.9% on threes this season. Which is actually a little better than the 19.4% he shot them last year.
Ah okay. I swear the announcers said he was a freshman, which is entirely possible given it was on the ACCN and we know how that can go. Regardless, taking that heave with 7 seconds left, down 1, was a Nasir moment.

OT: Pirates Ke'Bryan Hayes a bust?

He is the probably among the 10-15 most productive players from his draft class of 2015.

10 or 12 of the 34 guys drafted before him either never made it to the majors or got just a cup of coffee.

Anyways I tried to make the same exact point as you did to our friend poker approximately 670 days and 21 pages ago and he didn’t listen to me then so I don’t think he’s going to change his tune now

Hayes was the 32nd pick in the draft. Of the 31 players picked ahead of him, five of them have more career WAR than Hayes does at this point. All of them were selected in the first nine picks of the draft.

I mean Hayes was a supplemental round pick that year. The Pirates "actual" first round pick that year was Kevin Newman. Newman so far has a career WAR of 4.9. If you are going call a Pirate draft pick a bust, Hayes isn't even the bust of his own Pirate's draft.

Of the 31 guys drafted ahead of Hayes that season, seven of them still haven't played a game in the majors and nine of them have career WARs of 0.3 or worse. That's 16 of the 31 players who, so far, have been essentially worthless.

In short, the only way you can call Hayes a bust is if you have no idea, literally none, what that term actually means.

SMU Game & Other Dribbles ...

What’s became painfully obvious as this season continues to unfold is this “collective “ simply doesn’t have the horsepower/talent to overcome its weaknesses .

I know that coaching matters , but to me it’s more of a talent issue .

Do they coach them :
to miss open threes
to be out of position on defense and rebounding
to pass up open threes to drive into a packed lane
to ignore open teammates to drive to the hoop

I think the staff thought that they had addressed some of their weaknesses inside with the addition of Corhen and with Papa returning from injury and from the perimeter with the addition of Cummings and Delalic . It hasn’t worked .

Wasting limited resources ( cash ) on firing JC makes no sense when they need to find ways of funneling cash into the collective to outbid their competitors for talent . Winning teams and HOF coaches all have one thing in common great talent .
Remind us. Was it a male goat that kicked you in the head after you tried to milk it or did you get hit in the head after driving your cart onto the driving range looking for your errant tee ball?

Wake / FSU

Wake has some freshman that had a horrific game who then launches a 3 from just inside half court with 7 seconds left, down 1.

Saudi Arabia coming for the NBA now

We are living in the era of billionaire hobbyists. When the money you have is unlimited and you have no need or intention to make a profit, you can really disrupt things. Boosters paying college athletes is an example of this on a much smaller scale.

Few details have been released about this new basketball league. It sounds like there won't be any "home teams" and teams will rotate between Macau, Singapore, Riyadh, and some European cities. That part of it is stupid.
Maybe it is because I am a Pittsburgher that never had a home team, plus I grew up the Magic-Bird, Jordan, and Shaq-Kobe era, but pro basketball has always struck me as a sport that is more about its superstars than the teams. I always felt like you could drop like 10-12 of the cities in the NBA and you wouldn't lose much. If there is any sport that is good for a no-home team type format, I think it is pro basketball.
