Pitt is what Pitt is

Narduzzi has beaten more Top 25 teams at Pitt than Curt Cignetti will in his entire coaching career. And as of today, Cignetti hasn't won shit at IU. Narduzzi has won a Conference Championship. Cignetti hasn't, and he never will at Indiana. The reason Cignetti won't win a conference championship at Indiana is either because Indiana is a mediocre program with inherent limitations, or Cignetti's coaching just isn't up to winning a conference championship at a P4 level. I'll let you tell me which one it is.
Cignetti has created more positive pub for Indiana in a single year than what Narduzzi has generated in a decade.

VB: Top 20 Massey Teams' Metrics - 11/20/24

There really isn't anyone you prefer to see in that top four. I think the B1G teams have some exposed weaknesses but Nebraska is really good and PSU will be an overhyped rivalry type game.
My preferred finish is Pitt is seeded #1 and faces the #4 seed….either PSU or Creighton. Creighton is going to win out and will leap frog PSU because I believe PSU is not going to beat Nebraska and maybe even Purdue. I really think that If Pitt wins their last 4 matches…..Louisville and GT next week….they will be the #1 seed no matter what Nebraska does. Lose against Louisville and we fall to #2 or #3…..but Louisville has to finish against Stanford. We will not lose to GT. It’s a big week….starting tonight with Purdue and PSU. I will humbly eat my words if I’m wrong!

Pitt is what Pitt is

Another profoundly stupid post trying to rationalize away sloppy, undisciplined play…the game spread doesn’t justify a coaching staff blowing a game, which they did. Nor do claims that a program is mediocre and always will be so…..your constant whining message.

The sloppy, undisciplined play has been a hallmark of Narduzzi’s teams…just look at where they have ranked in penalties over his tenure. Are you going to justify this too with your view that Pitt is destined to be mediocre into eternity? What do program limitations have to do with making mistakes repeatedly on the field? Can”t find a punter…let’s blame that too on Pitt’s inherent program limitations.

People don’t hate Narduzzi separate and apart from the mediocre results he has delivered. Your assertion to the contrary is just a weak attempt to divert attention from what he has done and what his teams have delivered. Your arguments are absolutely laughable….and you’ll just respond with more whining about Pitt’s inherent limitations. Who are they going to hire…who wants to coach at Pitt….Pitt fans are cheap, and on and on. A HC can go to Indiana and achieve what Narduzzi couldn’t deliver in a lifetime if given the opportunity. If you were a detective you couldn’t figure out who the killer was if had a photograph with the culprit holding a gun over the victim!

The "good" Cignetti comes across as very arrogant. This is just my guess but I imagine karma says he's due for some humble pie. I don't think it will be a Mel Tucker level flameout, but I don't see him having a team consistently ranked in the top ten over next few years. Plus given his brother, I'm not convinced he is god's gift to leading an offense for a college football team.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my guess.

Pitt is what Pitt is

The take you responded to was a garbage take.

Pitt was double digit underdogs to a program with considerably more resources, support, and talent. They hung with them to the last minute. And yes, Pitt was their own worst enemy at crucial times. It's hard to win games when you have first & goal at the 2 and end up settling for a FG. There were a lot of guys on the field that normally aren't and the young OC, that's actually given the offense a pulse this year, had an ugly series.

For the haters to come crawling out crying about coaching & sloppy play, not in the context of criticism, but in the context of their hatred of Narduzzi is both comical and predictable.
