I couldn't help but notice that Bayliss' hitting % was pretty low over the weekend. Granted, she only had a bit of a cameo against UVA, but played almost 3 full games against VA. Tech. Down late in the 3rd set, Fisher ultimately chose to pull her in favor of VVG.
Not to get way ahead of ourselves, but going into this season and early on, I assumed Bayliss would represent a seamless replacement for VVG next season. From what I've seen, however, while she still may continue to develop and move into VVG's role, it would be a year-to-year "negative." Coupled with Fairbanks and Klicka's graduation, I can only assume that Fisher will be looking for top flight players in the portal, given that the program's foundation players, Babcock and Stafford will still have two years of eligibility.
...I know, let's take it one game/one season at a time.
'Just thinking ahead.
