Not over yet

I can't speak for his health, but he didn't seem all the different from the Holstein we've seen in the last 3 games.

And not all that different than he’s played all season.

Teams have just caught up to it.

He has had accuracy issues all year.
He has had trouble reading defenses all year. At one point through 3 games he had like 8 or 9 passes that PFF graded INT worthy.

He himself had a few quarters of football that were awesome.
But the offense itself according to the analytics never graded out as anything but average.

And now an offense that was at its peak, “average,” is worse because teams have enough film.
And the quality of defenses has improved. Eli went from not playing a single defense in the Top 60, to two defenses in the 30-ish range.

Thoughts on the SMU game

Being in a P4 conference might make things different.
Depends on who comes calling. There is a lot of unrest in the blueblood club. Michigan will be looking soon, Florida, FSU, Auburn and Oklahoma are already looking, USC, possibly PSU. If DeBoer loses 2 games again at Bama next year, he'll be gone too.

SMU has never been a brand, and never will be. All of the schools named above can pay whatever it takes to get who they want, the issue is whether they will pay it. I think most of them would. Michigan did it to get Harbaugh from the Niners, then went the cheap route with Sherrone Moore and got what they paid for, I think they will be happy to go back to the blank check hiring process.

Thoughts on the SMU game

Talk about hyperbole. The things posters on this board say after Pitt gets beat down......

The only part of that statement that isn't ridiculous is the part about them being more talented than Pitt at all positions. With a couple of individual exceptions Pitt has mid-major talent, no overall roster depth, and is weak along both lines of scrimmage. It's not hard for any P4 team to be more talented than this team that went 3-9 last year.

SMU has been a mid-major for 40 years. Now they have a coach and some resources, but they aren't suddenly some juggernaut. That team would get their dicks handed to them just about every week in the SEC.

SMU isn't a juggernaut, but they could hold their own with any team in the SEC except for maybe Georgia.

Pitt’s new on campus football stadium

It’s not your money, so mind your own business! And anything that would boost the program is worth pursuing. 99 and a half percent of the universities in the ncaa have their own stadium on campus for very good reasons…and you in your infinite lack of wisdom play the yinzer card.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

It’s time for Urban

Reality check:

*SMU is a good football team. Better than Pitt. It is by far the best team they faced so far this year. Their only loss was to a top 10 team (BYU). They have better players, period.

*Did you really think they would go undefeated? If you did then you are delusional. I predicted Pitt would lose this game a couple of weeks ago.

*Yes it was a bad showing. However, is Pitt that much better than Syracuse? I don’t think so. The wheels came off early and Syracuse couldn’t recover. It happens.

*The team got humbled. Maybe that’s a good thing. After the big win against Syracuse they may have gotten full of themselves.

*Some of you need to get a grip. Take a look at some other schools with more money and better players; USC, FSU, Michigan, Clemson, all are having disappointing seasons

Did you miss #10 Texas A&M getting spanked 44-20 last night by unranked South Carolina???
