I think this FSU game tonight is the most important game of the season for Pitt

If we lose that game that would be 3 losses in a row. And then we play Clemson and they have had our number recently. Pitt could easily lose the Clemson game and that would then be 4 losses in a row. Then they play Syracuse which should hopefully be a win but after that they play North Carolina who is always tough.

We could be looking at 5 losses out of 6 with only a win at Syracuse and that would most likely push Pitt barely on the NCAA bubble or not even in the field of 68.

So I am super nervous about this game soon - I don't have a good feeling about it but I'm hoping I'm wrong and Pitt wins. It's badly needed with who they have coming up.

I had a thread on the FB payboard about 2024 being the worst sports year of my life.

I mean maybe 1968, 69 were but I was way too young then.

So seeing that Ish was out to start 2025, and Dunn already being out................and the being down 16 to Cal, I was just convinced that God truly hates me. And boom.......the refs became......peculiar and I was telling a buddy that "hey, if we get this to 10 or under at the half I think we have a chance" and.............despite missed FT's, got it to 4. FOUR! I knew then we were going to win this game and knew we were going to win it going away. And we did.

I said this after game 1, and it stands today. We are really, really good! I mean really, really good.

OT: The Pitt

Been seeing this on the billboards out here in LA, but not sure if this is on your radar in Pittsburgh. HBO has a new medical drama coming out on January 9th called ‘The Pitt’ and you guessed it, it’s set in Pittsburgh. Looks like an ‘ER’ meets ‘24’ kind of show. Anyone recognize the areas of Pittsburgh in the trailer?

FIFA Intercontinental Cup???

Missed the memo on this. Apparently the old annual Club World Cup was essentially rebranded as this thing called the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. I figured when the Club World Cup was changed to an every 4 year, 32 team event, that this annual competition was done. Nope. Another money grab by FIFA.

The UEFA Champ gets a bye to the Final now and Real Madrid won it on December 18. CONCACAF plays CONMEBOL in 2 quarterfinal. Asia plays Africa in another quarterfinal. Those 2 winners play in a semi to advance to the final vs UEFA.
