Lowest ranked team among those with only 1 loss in the Top 25; not surprising, though, as we weren't even on the radar screen when the season began. I suspect a win vs Louisville and BC this week could be a real boost . . . GO PITT!
S. Carolina is UNDEFEATED and ranked only one spot (AP) ahead of us. Could be worse!
Yup; saw that. I haven't paid too much attention to SEC basketball this year; I'd have to Google the Gamecocks schedule to see who they've played. But even at this point in the season, an undefeated team could/should fall outside the Top Ten providing their resume is nothing special. If they (USC) are still ranked outside the Top Ten when they reach 18-0, for example, I'd question it . . .
Up, up and away. Say, the Vatican must be in cahoots with the voters in both polls as regards support of the Catholic teams in the new BE- I think Nova, Providence and Xavier are all way overrated. You can throw Uconn from that goofy American conference into that camp too. It's as if there's this reservoir of support for these members of the old BE because people think they got screwed in the conference shakeup. Watched Nova last night against Butler and wasn't at all impressed. The one goofball on cbs sports said yesterday that he thinks they may be a final 4 team- mind boggling.
I'll take Pitt's chances against Nova any day of the week. We beat you like a drum in BE play. Only an idiot would think I was serious on the "conspiracy" comment. Congratulations!
Who has Pitt beat in the tournament in the past 30 years? You've had one good team since Scottie Reynolds punked you guys and they lost in the second weekend to Butler as a 1 seed.
Has Pitt ever beat a team seeded better than 4 in school history???
All I know is neither Pitt or Nova have fared very well in the tournament since that Elite Eight contest... And, now, they don't even play one another. Not much doing here.
Nova is a nice team, but they shoot entirely too many 3's. I'd call Pitt and Nova no worse than a toss up.

Congrats - your best win the past 30 years was us. And then you got embarrassed. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a Final Four and that game hurt, because we had the better team, but Nova had our number that year.
But I take some solace winning the last 6 contests. And until we meet again in the tournament, as you're afraid to play a home and home with us, I guess we'll never truly know who's the most overrated between us.

the Big East is awesome these days. Sure we miss Cuse and UConn, but we are still playing series with them. Otherwise its a great conference. Not that the ACC is a bad conference, but you guys are about as welcome there as Boston College was when they left, and we saw what happened to their proud program playing in that southern conference. Enjoy the same type of decline.

And please don't compare Nova to Penn State. If anything the tax thieves at Pitt with the criminal culture within your athletic program is closer to Penn State. You hear that police siren out the window? That's the sound of another Pitt football player getting arrested.

Pitt will never play the top dog in PA again unless it is in the tourny. No reason too. VU gains absolutely nothing by playing Pitt when we can be playing teams Cuse, Uconn etc.... Soon Pitt will realize what a mistake they made giing for the football money. Will never be anything except a middle if the road type team in the ACC and one step above BC while Nova will be in the top 15 every year. Bad Choice that looked good at the time but should have realized only four teams will be consistently good jn the ACC. Cuse, Duke, NC, LV.
FB is king and will always be king which is precisely why the holy fathers at Nova considered trying to go from playing little boy to big boy FB. Problem is Nova Nation is 200 hundred strong and wanted to play FB in a bandbox in Chester and the BE FB schools said no thanks. You will be extinct in a decade!

I can't believe Del makes a fairly tame criticism on Nova and the BE and half the Nova board is here in minutes. Do they scour the interwebs for any sort of negativity toward their school? How did they all end up her like that? I have never been to any other teams board, very strange.
