Heather,
You need to finish up the 2021 schedule. We like to schedule a MAC team. Well, Kent State just signed with Maryland. I am guessing that we are going to start the season with a home game against CLemson, which is why Sept 4, 2021 remains open. That would be great, like the Florida State home opener in 2013 to welcome us to the league. I think you need to finish up every OOC schedule through 2024, which ends our 1st round of league scheduling of the other Division for the rotating team on our schedules. May I suggest possibly Boston College to count as an OOC game. North Carolina and Wake Forest have done this for 2019 and 2021. The ACC has granted permission for this.

Or start the WVU rivalry a year early!!

That would work, but I think they are full for 2021. They play a 9 game conference schedule, so they only need 3 OOC games, instead of 4.
West Virginia is fulll through the 2024 season. However, they may be willing to move things around for that to happen.

I get the way to go to the CFP is by scheduling crap teams to pad your conference schedule, but I’m a huge fan of renewing rivalries and playing tough competition. Was all in favor of us scheduling Tennessee in the late 2020s.

Maryland and WVU play Sept 4, 2021, which is open for us, unless we have Clemson scheduled, which the ACC is not going to announce, per present policy. The BIg 10 announces league games in advance. It CAN be done if they majority agrees to this. Anyways, the bottom line is we need to be scheduled out to at least 2024, which ends the first round of rotations. 2025, we may also consider 9 league games, and Notre Dame gets the ultimatum.

Hopefully by the 2020 matchup vs ND, we get a primetime home slate for Pickett's senior season

Have an fcs game already scheduled so can’t do another one. An away P5 game. Got to find a P5 team to play here and promise a return game down the road. Not an easy accomplishment.

Maybe a good time to start up a home and home with a decent non P5 program. Wouldn’t hate temple, would love a Fresno st or col state. Maybe something like Memphis or ecu. Houston might be too big a risk with little reward.

Two ‘buy a win’ fcs scrimmages in one year is absolutely unacceptable.

I actually prefer challenging non-conference games. Loved the fact that UCF is playing us. Lots of natnl attention on them, makes it a big deal if we win this year.
