2023 College football revenue

You might want to do some basic math on this one..
“For a school like Pitt, it absolutely does because they can spend the same as Bama and then its up to Pitt fans to pay players as much as Bama fans do.”

Where is math needed? If Pitt fans were willing to contribute like fans of Bama, they could be like Bama. It’s not math, it’s priorities.

The math is based on the number of fan at games and number of home games.

F$U gets 82k. Pitt tops out at roughly 50k. To your point, Pitt would need to basically double the cost of a season ticket not a $25/per game increase. IMO, the majority of Pitt fans (myself included) would have no issue paying twice the current cost but some might just go the stubhub route.

Again, because none of this has been directly tied to revenue (unlike real pro sports) and relies on rich donors and "collectives" this isn't sustainable. There are no guarantees. The Yankees have been top 3 in payroll and haven't won a title in 20 years. But again, their payroll is supported by revenue, not individual jock sniffers.
