4 American Athletic teams ranked ahead of UNC?

The Big East/American has 4 ranked teams. I wonder when was the last time that league had 4 ranked teams. Its amazing how that league continues to rise from the ashes. Good for them I guess.

The American bears no resemblance whatsoever to the Big East. It includes one school that was there from the beginning, one school that was added after the first wave of defections, and one school that was embargoed from full membership and then bum-rushed out . . . but is certainly enjoying the last laugh.

I don't disagree with their ranking. Saying they deserve to be ranked #1 is something totally different than saying they can't be beat. I think there are several teams that could beat Clemson.

So you think there are "several teams" better than Clemson but you agree with their #1 ranking?

lol yep, makes perfect sense.

you act like they have beaten many good teams. look it up, how many top 25 teams have they beaten?

Doesn't mean they aren't a damn good team! They have much more talent than any team in the AAC does.

Everyone thinks Temple is legit because they beat PSU!?? Lol seriously??

Temple is still temple! Temple was lucky as hell to beat UMASS!

You said "they can't be beat". That is your quote.

Someone can certainly think they deserve to be ranked #1, even if they don't think they would be the pick in a head to head matchup with another team. Makes perfect sense. I'll say, sure, Clemson has a great argument to be ranked #1, but I would take OSU, UA, ND, LSU, and UF over them on a neutral field. Probably Baylor and Stanford, too.

UNC would beat the all star team of the 4 AAC teams. Nobody wants to play UNC!
Impeccable knowledge displayed here, folks.

That is your opinion. Not the opinion of the playoff committee and coaches.

Clemson is #1 because they are the best team.

ND was down to Clemson 21-3 heading into the 4th Qtr.
The great Will Fuller had 2 catches for 30yards against Clemson.

Slightly, yes. But neither one are coming anywhere close to the playoff so it's a moot point.
You can't dismiss the committee ranking AAC teams ahead of UNC and then use their ranking of Clemson as justification that Clemson is the best team in the country and "cannot be beaten".

I didn't say there were several teams better than Clemson. I said I thought there were several teams that could beat Clemson. There is a difference.

You act as if Clemson is head and shoulders above the field and that just isn't the case, imo.

He bases it on the fact he think that lets us puff our chest because we lost to "such a great team that no one wants to play". No barometer, whatsoever, for the entire NCAAF.

I don't dismiss their ranking at all.
UNC is just much MUCH better than they are getting credit for right now. I do however think Clemson has earned their #1 ranking and they deserve it.

South Florida is not terrible. Temple though has returned to planet's surface. Still a fine season.

That was an ass beating. All Temple had to do was make the USF QB throw! Flowers is a great runner but force him to throw and you win the game.

Temple won't be ranked this week.

Meanwhile UNC just keeps winning...

Maybe they can finally crack the top 20 with their 9-1 record!!

They're definitely not the same team that lost to South Carolina in week 1... Everything is clicking for the Heels right now.
Amazing how many people can't grasp that concept.
There's a reason why so many teams play fcs cupcakes in week 1 as a tune up.

IMO it's just foolish that all 4 of these teams were still ahead of Carolina even this weekend. Carolina has been on fire since that South Carolina game and should be in the top 15 when this new poll comes out, or at least somewhere near that ranking.

Of course, folks on this board should be quite familiar with pissing the bed versus South Florida.

Pitt went 7-3 against USF. So we're familiar with beating them. I think Temple simply got beat by a team getting better quickly.

I can only recall two previous Temple-USF matchups. Temple won both. That's why Saturday has such a "WTF?" quality to it for us (the cherry us, that is.) Maybe the players themselves thought they could mail it in. (One can infer that from some of Rhule's post-game comments).

I looked on cfbdatawarehouse and they say you're 1-1. FWIW. But anyway I think USF is rapidly improving and will look even more so after they win their bowl. It may not look like so bad a loss then. Particularly, on the road. UConn is also improving.May not be an easy game either.

That league has rebounded well.

Trap game. They happen. Doesn't make Temple any worse but it looks bad. That's all.
