You can't tell me we have bad luck? Yes, some may not work out and we all know the story with Chaney, Cananda and now Watson.

But for Narduzzi to be dealing with another firing, what the heck is he doing? When is he going to be on the "HOT SEAT" with some of these hirings? For him to continue to miss on one of the most important aspects of coaches, this can't be great for anyone.

No wonder we can't recruit top QB's because they don't know if the coach they were recruited by will be there when they get there.

Narduzzi=clueless.......

How many offensive coordinators has Alabama had in that time period? Or Penn State? What's the big deal? If the guy isn't working or gets a better job you just find another quality coach.

Your comparing us to PSU and Alabama...come on man! Not sure I would say that. As much as I love Pitt, let's get real. It will continue to be an issue. You are comparing apples and organges. Those teams are winning 9+ games a year. Really!
We don't have the luxury to miss on OC like that. Alabama/PSU, lose coordinators and they win. Us 6-7. You tell me!

I guess you don't consider 4 star Beville a top QB.

The point he was making is that a lot of schools lose their assistants. Give it a rest.

how is it apples to oranges? They don't seemed concerned about churn, why don't you have the stomach for it? I'd be more worried if they kept Watson

Exactly. It's normal in today's game to be shuffling assistant coaches. Two of the three we've had in the last 4 years were successful enough to be hired away by SEC programs, so that's not exactly a bad thing. As for recruiting QBs, Narduzzi has been more consistent with his QB recruiting than any coach since Walt. Wanny only had two OCs in six years and never brought in a really good QB. Chryst had one OC for his 3 years and only ever brought in a half-decent transfer. In fact, Chryst never recruited a QB straight out of high school to start a single game for Pitt in his 3 years here (Voytik was a Graham recruit and Savage was a transfer).

The point I was making is that we don't have the luxury of missing out on the "Right" coordinator when it comes to recruiting. Do you think we may have trouble recruiting the right QB because of the 4 OC in 4 years? Just trying to be realistic about this. Putting Bama in the mix is not relevant. Have they stopped recruiting 4 and 5 star QB's because they change coordinators?

Look back five head coaches in six years?
Stable successful programs don't have these issues.
PITT needs to join the group of Stable Successful Programs soon.
Coaches hang around programs with upside. Usually!

Well, two of those OCs went to SEC schools and got big pay raises. One was fired, so the, "But for Narduzzi to be dealing with another firing..." is just incorrect.

To me it says the first two choices were good. The last wasn't.

I believe Alabama has had 5 in 5 years.

The reality is that no matter what Duzz does some are going to rip him. Even if he won 9 or 10 games next year the same people would be complaining about this year and last and claiming hes losing a ton of talent and the following year will be horrible.

Neither did any of the other P5 programs in the country outside of Northwestern and Rutgers, his other 2 P5 offers.

This kid may end up being good, he may not. Haven’t we done this dance enough over the years to know better than to fluff him up before he ever takes a college snap?

Lol trolls gonna troll...

Year 1-Chaney
Year 2-Canada
Years 3-4: Watson.

Not sure how any fan of this program wouldn’t know that.

Yea...really bad job hiring the guy who had Alabama on the ropes this year and was in the championship last year 3 point game.

Canada clearly was a good fit and he is trying everything in his power to be a head coach. His actions say "I want a P5 head coaching job"....by the way he jumps around.

Watson...In my opinion was Duzz play at "stability for the offensive side of the ball" ...however it back fired because Watson scheme is an uphill battle way to play football... and did not work for our personal.

Also I think in today's college football if you want stability you have to find quality candidates that run the same scheme more than finding a person who will stay for 10 years.

In my 4 year sample size of Duzz ...he has earned my trust in hiring coaches...again we aren't $$$up to compete with SEC...so taking that out of the equation Duzz has done pretty well...IMO

This is the first OC that he has fired. Chaney and Canada both left for the SEC.
