I compared the # of football staff for Alabama and Pitt tonight. I was surprised to see the number wasn’t THAT big of a difference. I counted from head coach all the way down to the GA’s/analysts and Alabama had 8 more. I kinda felt good about that for a second. Then you expand on that a little....
8 extra coaches x 40 hour work week=320 extra man hours a week being put into the football program.(40 seemed conservative but it’s a good baseline. Most coaches and staff are way over 40 but GA’s are probably under).
320x52 weeks=16,640 MORE MAN HOURS ON FOOTBALL A YEAR!!!!!!
That is just absolutely insane. These schools have all of the money to get the best of anything and everything they need. And something that I’ve never really seen anyone talk much about is that monstrous advantage in hours put into the program. They can have every single thing to the tiniest detail about the the team they are playing planned for, their own team, just everything you can imagine.
And that doesn’t even consider all of the same things when it comes to recruiting.
So uh...how does anyone catch up to Bama, Clemson, and Ohio State? Seems impossible. It seems it’s going to take those programs imploding because obviously it’s tough for even that next tier of the Georgia’s, Florida’s, LSU, etc to even compete with that.
