Ryan Luther. A few posters are speculating that Luther is a non contributor and will be gone soon.

In Ryan Luther I see a kid who is 6'9" and can shoot. I think Luther can get bigger and stronger and end up being a real plus for the program. A big kid who can rebound and bang yet stick a knife in you on the perimeter.

we are always saying why can't we get a big kid that lights it up like ND always seems to have. Well I think Luther can be one of those guys. Maybe not next year but in two years.

Really? I know I'm not here daily, but there has been speculation that he will be gone soon? Why? This staff has had enormous success developing players. Why in the world couldn't Luther be one of them?

PittGirl this is an easy one. It's just what people do and have on this board for quite some time. To name a few guys people wanted to run out of here...Wannamaker, Gray, Lamar....and the list goes on. Despite the number of players on Dixon's teams who have improved there's a big contingent of short sighted people on here. Newkirk is another one on "the hot seat". I don't know if Luther or Newkirk will ever be good contributors but I know the ones calling for their heads don't know either. I guess occasionally if you have a late chance on a player who the coaches think is really good some hard decisions might need to be made. But this late in the recruiting cycle there's not much point most likely. Unless it means landing a Diallo.

Ill be in the minority here, it doesnt matter. Nwankwo, a walkon, was getting more playing time then Luther in ACC play. If you want to wait a redhirt year and 3 more years on Luther, ok. Id rather he goes and we get an impact player.

I like the kid and hope he has a great career here, but he's not a shooter. Never has been. I know he hit a few 3s in Maui, but he's easily the worst shooter of all of the 4s on the roster (Young, Artis, Jeter).

They already have 2 more to give with Haughton and Uchebo leaving. Do you really think they can get 3 impact players at this juncture? I'm sure it's possible given the tons of grad transfers but it wouldn't seem likely.

And I agree if someone is available they think can help they might do it. Which is why I said sometimes there might be some hard decisions. We as fans want to see wins but I'm sure it's not easy or pleasant forcing kids out. But it's definitely part of the game at times.
