Kiy Hester was a four-star recruit in the class of 2014 who signed with Miami but transferred to Rutgers the summer before his freshman year.
He has started games each of the last three seasons at safety for Rutgers while dealing with some injury issues and now he's looking for a new home in his final year of eligibility. Pitt is one of the schools he will be looking at, and he's in the process of setting up an official visit with the Panthers.
This is a pretty interesting development, since Pitt returns four safeties who started games last season - Damar Hamlin, Bricen Garner, Dennis Briggs and Phil Campbell - and will add Paris Ford to the mix this season. Hester is a talented, experienced safety who was pretty productive in his playing time at Rutgers.
We'll see what develops here, but keep Hester's name in mind.
