A good night for both soccer teams. Men beat NC State 3-0. Were in control the entire way.
Women beat VT 4-1 in Blacksburg. Now 7-1. VT scored on a PK to tie it up 1-1 late in the 1st half. Pitt responded with 2 goals in 4 minutes to go up 3-1 at the half. Then scored early in the 2d half and coasted. Defense was solid except for the one foul. Pitt controlled the ball for most of the match. Found a lot of space between VT defenders. Did a good job of doubling up on VT when they had possession. Ellie Cofield is very good. Controlled the midfield. Set up two goals on set pieces.
Announcers said that women lead the country in scoring. And they are doing it with their best player sidelined. They have Miami next and then ND. They should beat Miami and be a tossup with ND. We will have to see how they handle success.

I don’t know what happened to VT, but they didn’t look so good and gave up some easy goals there. But, you still have to hit the back of the net and Pitt got 4 with a huge conference win. Don’t sleep on Miami, much much better than what you’ve seen last few years. Hell, Miami beat Alabama 1-0.
