Hey... if the team had played its best and lost that would be one thing... but coming out flat as hell and then spending itself getting back into the game to the point of having nothing left in the last 10 minutes... that is something else.
On the football side... we got slaps in the face all the time with Wannstedt, Graham and Chryst, but Coach Duzz has turned that around. Dixon, has NOT turned that around. One gets the impression that Dixon will crawl into the NCAA Tourney with an early exit and think he is doing good. IMO, only a matter of time before the administration gets fed up and makes a change.
Dixon has ISSUES with this team that he has not resolved. Jeter is probably your 3rd best scorer but hasn't been given diddly squat as far as playing time. Chris Jones has NOT gotten any better since last year. Regardless of anything else, Mike Young's play seems to go downhill when he gets swung over to C. We don't know how good ANO is or is not... because Dixon starts him but then hardly plays him at all. Luther makes plus plays, but makes all sorts of minus plays as well, and should be getting maybe just half of the minutes he is getting.
Dixon should use BOTH Slim and Jones at SG and use Jeter to spell both Young and Artis (he played SF last year). If this means sitting Jones' butt down until he starts putting the ball in the hoop... so be it. He should then stop playing Young at C... and just cover that slot with ANO, Maia and Luther... let the best man win... and that is probably NOT Luther.
Ya know, we fans deserve better than what we saw yesterday... and the big doners deserve better as well and they have a way of getting their point across.
