I am rooting for this though we probably get 5. I'm hoping for 3 and for the new commish to have a serious meeting with the AD's. Basketball is supposed to be the ACC's thing. Its getting so bad that perhaps the ACC needs to create a basketball fund and direct money to the schools specifically for men's basketball.

Georgia Tech last year. Seriously, Georgia Tech last year.

Georgia Tech lost to Georgia State and Mercer their first 2 games last season. They got dominated by Mercer at home in their 2nd game. Then they won the ACC title.

I am saying this in "general", certain teams are going to play a lot better a month or 2 months from today. You cant judge all these teams and players after only 3 or 4 games into the season after there was mass roster turnover all over the place in the NCAA, and that includes us.

We all knew the ACC wouldn't be great this year. But there is a ton of basketball left for teams to pick it up and play a lot better as the season moves forward and again, that also includes us.

I specifically remember saying this last year to wait and see how teams respond outside of the first couple weeks of the season. Georgia Tech couldn't be a better example of what can happen.

If 4 years ago, I told you that in Capel Year 4, the ACC was going to be the worst it ever was, would you have predicted Pitt goes 2-18?

No. But I also wouldn't have predicted 4 years ago that 2 players would be charged with Felonies, 2 players were in serious car / scooter accidents that resulted in concussions and broken bones, mass transfers, and we would be starting the season with 1 guard to open the season this year. I still cant believe we started this year with 1 guard.

Like I told bballinsider, At seasons end, we either have real building blocks in place to win (John, Nate, Femi, Will) as freshmen, or we don't. Im not going to sugar coat any stats, they are what they are.

Capel doesnt get another massive reset button like on a Nintendo game. Its time to work and improve, now.

I will say that in a league as bad as the ACC, Capel still has a chance to win 5, 6, 7 games and have something to build on. People will laugh at that but the league is terrible

He values shooters and his players followed him.
He looks like a Dr.Seuss character but i really liked that hire for them

I thought it was a bad hire to be honest. I saw SEC schools hiring big name after big name and then VT goes the lottery ticket route. But they hit on it. Maybe 1 out of 5 or 10 of those lottery tickets hit.
