Not sure how true of a metric the NCAA tournament is to the overall strength of a conference. But it is the oft cited metric by talking heads and media.

The ACC is tearing it up.

The 7 entries are 10-1 so far. 4 teams in the Sweet 16, with ND and Syracuse could making it 6 teams in the Sweet 16. We won't say anything about the 7th team, which won't.

The Big 10 is doing OK.

6-3 so far, but Iowa is getting rolled by Nova. The top 2 Big 10 teams were upset. Indiana is in the Sweet 16, with Wisky and Maryland still with a shot.

The Big 12 is not the best conference.

At least in this tourney. Sure, Kansas is in the Sweet 16 as is Iowa State. OU has a chance to move on, but Baylor and WVU suffered horrible upsets.

The Conference of Champions (Pac 12)

Conference was handed 7 entries and there is......well ONE left. Oregon has the only chance for a Pac 12 team to move onto the Sweet 16.

SEC! SEC! SEC!!'

Stick to football. Only 4 teams, only A&M Left.

Big East! 5-4 with Nova still carrying the banner.

The American? Old Big East football schools. Not a real good showing.

1-4 overall with UConn's opening game their only win.
