So UNC has lost to Wake Forest and Clemson yet they are listed as 2-1 in conference. Did one of those games not count? I will never understand why team schedule conference opponents for their non conference schedule if that is the case.

The Wake game does not count in the conference standings. Officially, it was an out of conference game.
Pre scheduled. They are in different divisions and ACC rotation would eliminate playing every year.

Yep they're also playing in 2021, it's a cool thing they kept it alive despite the division split.
North Carolina’s two Atlantic Division opponents this year are Clemson and NC State. State is their annual cross division rival, much like Syracuse is for Pitt.
Since you cannot have two cross division rivals (the schedule is set up for 1 and then you play the other six teams once every six years), Wake and UNC agreed to play each other in the non-conference.
UNC and Wake Forest will play each other as conference opponents in 2022 (at Wake Forest).
I would actually love it if Pitt and my Louisville Cardinals did this. Those games in Heinz Field are awesome!
No thank you. The only non coastal teams (+ Cuse) I would want Pitt to play is PSU, WVU, and ND. If we can't play them regularly, then I want to see different teams that we don't see often.
