amazing how they built this right with PNC and how one is an absolute gem, 20+ years later and the other was bare bones minimum from day one.

I think part of it is that baseball embraces retro, where as the football stadiums are in a race to the future. PNC is in a perfect location. The physical structure meant a little less.

But football stadiums get antiquated quickly. Heinz was fine, but it’s time for something major to be done

The owners can get away from demanding taxpayers to fund their stadiums because the politicians in power at the time are afraid they’d be blamed and voted out of office if the team made good on the threat to leave the city.

Sadly, voters probably would do just that. Especially in Pittsburgh / Allegheny County.
