AD names emerge

Chun is outstanding according to Ohio st. buds. Very big picture AD versus cheapskate. Lets get it done unless there is a big time surprise.
He has a pretty awful record for football and basketball at FAU. He hired Partridge and that was a disaster (glad to have him as position coach at Pitt though). Curry has been as bad in basketball. I doubt Kiffin is successful either.

Those are the most important tasks and the guy has absolutely whiffed.

Frazier is seemingly the only decent option mentioned.

Its not an easy place to succeed. He is well thought of. Pitt has a solid base to.build on. Get somebody.

Good he at least is from Ohio and knows the area....Not Nebraska or Oregon!

I think JPRipper88 is more right on Frazier a background has good track record, but if Barry Alvarez leaves Wisky will Frazier be another Chryst?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have brought many Great People in from Ohio has turn the organization as one of best in NFL Football Club for over 6 Decades, Pitt needs that same type of Character like it did in 1972.:D

As I see it, UPMC after it buys into Harrisburg should move into Florida and Pitt should buy up FAU and make it a Branch Campus!;)

Sunny Florida!

I am JPRipper88, Hope it is Frazier!
Two Big Ten schools reviewed NIU Athletic Director for hire
He's a football guy. He played at Alabama, coached at Maine and later spent six seasons at Wisconsin under Barry Alvarez, providing the financial resources to aid the Badgers' three-year Big Ten title run.Athletic Director Sean Frazier was passed up by the University of Minnesota as a candidate for its athletic director position. Frazier was also in the running for the same position at the University of Illinois when the job was posted in November, according to a Herald and Review article. Josh Whitman, University of Illinois athletic director, was hired for the position in February, according to a University of Illinois press release. :p

First off I am in no way an insider who claims to have the "Inside Scoop", but I was told by a very good friend of mine that there is an internal candidate that WILL get an interview. If a more senior member on this board would contact me directly I will discuss the name of the candidate.

There are two obvious candidates: Freire and Borghetti. Freire is probably hurt by the fact he just came in and was brought in by Barnes. Borghetti is hurt by the fact he has just stayed at Pitt and doesn't have the growing experience and responsibility anywhere else. He wouldn't leave, though.

Pitt isn't an easy place to succeed, either. FAU has won before in football. Plus, they generally have more money than their peers, so I would say they have a nice advantage there, in addition to the location and recruiting area. Basketball success at the non-P5 level is entirely about who you hire. Curry looks like a dud and his contract is an albatross, thanks to Chun and FAU's flub during the Pelini firing.

FYI it is neither

This is your opinion. I will stand by what he has told me. If you would like to contact me directly I will give you his name. I just don't want to put it out.

I don't know anything about any of these names.

Whomever they hire, he better be a football first person and pump all money into football and do the bare min for the rest till we get to where we need to with football.

What are you questioning?
Well only a bunch of brain dead admins. would have hiredStallings knowing what the fan reaction would be...add to that there are plenty of questions to be asked starting with : what the hell has Pitt won in any sport in recent memory? The school should be embarrassed

This is a good point , why would the ADMIN hire an old loser like Stallings knowing the fans would be dissapointed and not show up at games, therefore losing money . I dont get it .. At least hire a young guy with some fire left and a will to win and not collect a paycheck ..

Watch what you say. Some on this board will attack you for questioning the hiring of Mr Mediocre.

I completely agree the hiring of Stallings was a major disappointment. I too would have wanted a younger option who could have brought some life to the program.

any internal candidate would end up as a failure. pitt should try to act like a ACC school.
All Pitt wants is to percieve they care.
You know why ? They made the biggest GOOF HIRE EVER with Stallings.
seriously how is Stullings even still on campus ?

I'd rather they just hire a true Pitt man that loves this university like EJ than some mid-major carpetbagger who will be here 3 years.
