Miami in elite 8 again - adios all the number one seedsDutcher is one of most underrated coaches.
What a great tournament!Miami in elite 8 again - adios all the number one seeds
shot themselves in the foot. The only thing rolling in T-town tonight are tears.
Larramaga is the best coach in the ACC in my opinion. Or not far behind Tony Bennet.Miami in elite 8 again - adios all the number one seeds
Miami looks good. They are tough!Miami in elite 8 again - adios all the number one seeds
It would have been so cool to play them a third time. Miami and Pitt were the only 2 ACC teams to win 2 tournament games.Miami looks good. They are tough!
But did Pitt really get this team at this level/gear during ACC play?It would have been so cool to play them a third time
The first time we played them, they were excellent until Pitt went on that 11-0 run at the end of the game. I thought that was Pitt’s best game of the season. I think Pitt’s style created problems but Fede would have had to be healthy. But did Pitt really get this team at this level/gear during ACC play?

1st time ever with an elite 8 and no number 1 seeds left. What a great tournament!
He will never win a championship doing this and trying to play this way.
Yeah, I mean the best basketball teams in the world play that way, but there is no way that a college team could win a championship doing it.
This is a single elimination tournament, not the NBA. And these teams always die in the NCAA Tournament. Its the story of players like JJ Reddick who could never get it done at Duke because it takes 1 bad shooting game and you are out. 3 level scorers, guys like Kemba Walker and Ben Gordon who take games over scoring from all over the floor, completely different story.
And Oats had a top 3 NBA lotto pick and still couldn't get past the Sweet 16. He and his team failed, again. He wont be getting another top 3 NBA talent pick for a while.
Is it fair to say he’s out of touch, out of time?Did Oats say in his presser that they lost because they were in the wrong place, wrong time?
Damnit, I came here to say this!!Did Oats say in his presser that they lost because they were in the wrong place, wrong time?
A lot of that going around down in Alabama, at least no one died this time.Did Oats say in his presser that they lost because they were in the wrong place, wrong time?
I'd believe that just about everyone would say Alabama has better guards and SDSU. Guards are big time but there really isn't a silver bullet for this thing. SDSU beat the #1 overall seed and is in the EE playing a style that many would say cant get there.Guards, Guards, Guards - They rule the day come tournament time.
He actually hasn't played very well for about 5 games now. They broke it down after the game.If only a teammate woulda texted Miller before the game and asked him to bring his shot with him!
Trammell took over the game and 47 of their points came from guards.I'd believe that just about everyone would say Alabama has better guards and SDSU. Sure. But, Bama would be believed by everyone to have the more talented guards and SDSU won the game with defense, rebounding, blocked shots, steals, physicality. Their defense around the rim was especially incredible from Mensah.Trammell took over the game and 47 of their points came from guards.

I loved every second of that game. I'd forgot about their 30-2 record in '20 as well. Wow!San Diego State had the #1 defense in the country according to Bart Torvik over the course of its last 10 games. They are also 17-2 in their last 19 games with a conference tournament championship.
Ive said it a bunch of times now, in that, its how you finish the regular season and what you do in March is far more important than what you do in November.
Alabama went up against a team playing hot and playing hard on defense and got completely shut down primarily because Alabama has a very stubborn and hard headed coach who doesn't believe in offensive adjustments.
Brian Dutcher is going to start getting high level major attention at other jobs. I know things got canceled in 2020 because of covid, but San Diego State was 30-2 going into that tournament and was ranked in the top 5 nationally. They have a coach that actually knows how to coach and win, both conference championships and NCAA tournament games. If the Pitt job opened up I would want to be all over this guy.
