Power-5 Starter

COMPARISON
Jesse DavisMIAMI DOLPHINS

Tall, long bodied lineman who went from 240 pounds to just under 300 in the span of just over two years. Hockey player who exhibits the balance and coordination needed to skate effectively on the football field as well. Good bender and mover laterally. Gets off the football well also. Had good functional strength even before he added the weight, but the additional size made him a more dominant player as a senior. Needs to continue to work on pass pro technique, but has all the tools to be a major college player and has Sunday potential.

Thank you for posting this. What I love about this is Duzz waited to see some senior year film before he would give a committable offer. That tells me that this isn't a reach and they believe he can play at this level otherwise they would have kept the offer in pocket. They have some nice lineman coming in already.

Typically in high school. One could argue they are about even, but many high school coaches put their best athletes at QB FWIW.

One could not argue that, at least outside of high school.

At the high school level it’s debatable. But with today’s passing offenses that dominate the high school level, I wouldn’t use playing QB as some great indicator of athleticism. Especially when coaches that do that in high school tend to put a kid that projects as a safety or WR or something at QB.

Can you honestly sit there with a straight face and tell me Narduzzi and Borbley have done a good job at evaluating Offensive lineman?

im not sure if borbley was involved in the '18 recruits, i cant imagine. so in '19, im very pleased so far with Gonglaves, very positive early reviews and he played very well two weeks ago. Dick is to be determined.. Statham and taylor are tru freshmen.

How are you knocking his evaluations? i can see knocking development of players recruited by previous coaches or knocking missing on recruits but so far, he's 1 for 1 (Gonclaves) with 3 TBDs..

Bringing in only 4 OL (Not counting TEs, that number could be higher) last two classes is concerning but it is obvious they are changing that this class with 6 so far..

Gonclaves is already a hit? Based on what?

@pierre93 , you said we are waiting on two names still? I am not doubting you here, i may have missed it but are you sure, there are two unconfirmed pat signals still out there in addition to the tight end guy who we've already confirmed..

To be fair Borberly is still coaching the last guys recruits mostly. Duzz.......meh I don't expect him to have a keen eye for diamond in the rough lineman. Additionally, there is a big difference between the lineman you know will translate to play in college football and the ones we can land. ACC level lineman don't grow on trees. Who was the last 4 star lineman we snagged? I honestly can not recall.

hmmm. Thought Taylor was at one time. Not consensus I would guess. Probably the guard who flipped from PSU when all hell was breaking out? Honestly don’t know.

What's the most concerning Goadie is the development of these OL as well most of these players that are on the roster. PN should hire a good OC and if he gets 1 or 2 good years out of him so be it. Can't be afraid of OC's that are going to leave, that's what change is all about. Salem is too attached to PN's hip and expect him to be retained.
College football is about scoring pts and excitement etc. H2P!!
