Well given we are losing 41-40 I think so

Canisuis not looking like the team that lost to St Peter’s 54-52 and lost to Bowling Green. They shot 45% at home vs St Peter’s and 9-20 from foul line and are 6-6 tonight.

I was half-joking that we aren’t worthy of a game thread losing to Canisuis thus far…. Let’s see if they can sustain that shooting in the second half.

St. Peter’s lost to Duquense by 11 and lost by almost 30 to Rutgers who got walloped by Wake by 19. Need to play much perimeter defense in the second half. We can’t just hope they miss open 3s
He can get drafted on size and quickness alone. They figure they can deveolp skills later (his shooting is pretty good for his age too.)
He's not a great college point guard right now though. We may have to rely way too much on Hinson carrying the scoring to get a lead back.
He’s not that big. Guys like him are a dime a dozen. If he can’t get to the rim he’s not going to get drafted

Lowe got tripped by Canisius coach who was clearly on the floor at the time… I have no idea why a foul wasn’t called there he looked a little hurt but don’t know status now.
He's a 6'5" guy who can move like a 6'1" guard. No official wing span yet but he's a major prospect.
Anyway we needed this one. Cansius should win a good amount of conference games so hopefully it works out OK for our NET.

Sometimes gotta win when you don’t have your fastball. Miller will probably say an 11 point win as opposed to a 15 point win cost us a few spots - but let’s move on.
I was thinking the same thing. For the first 27 mins. of this game, if you did not know which team was a P5 and supposed to be better, one might of thought it was Canisius. The last 13 minutes Capel changed some things up and we started to execute at both ends. I believe we made 11 of 12 shots at one point there.
I still think this team can be good, perhaps really good, if it defends hard consistently. I like the idea of going zone some, it masks some of our lack of quick feet as well as making it a little harder for teams to get right to the glass on us. Plus, we have the length to be pretty good at it.
Bub has NBA talent, as in size, length, handle, and extreme high release / fade on his jumpshot. What he needs is another year in school to get stronger, and show scouts he can play under control. Right now he can get to the rim, but his body doesn't make space the way it would need to too be effective in the NBA. I'm confident he will get there, but, I hope he doesn't get some bad advice and leave after this year.
between 6:00 and 7:00 when you posted that, our ladies were in the midst of a 5 set thriller for the right to go to the final four. I think most of us were prioritizing that over that hoop game.
For sure. I wasn’t questioning why there wasn’t a game thread because I already assumed why. Just a little tongue-in-cheek joke about the first half was all.
Some of you clearly don't watch the NBA. They draft 19 year old kids from Slovenia who played 12 minutes a game in Euro Basket because of potential. I remember Pitt fans being shocked that Steven Adam's went first round because he wasn't that special here. They're not drafting based on production.
Yes, and most here missed Canisius getting control of the tip and sinking a 3 within seconds of game beginning.
