Merry Christmas to All!
Pitt winning or losing yesterday had no bearing on the acc's bowl payouts. If teams in one conference all go to higher level bowls isn't the total to share higher?
Merry Christmas to All!
1. The bowl payouts are irrelevant to Pitt. They get an equal share of bowl/CFP money. How did you not know that?
Thank you for the polite answer. You and KiwiJeff seem to know what your talking about.Pitt winning or losing yesterday had no bearing on the acc's bowl payouts.
It's kind of like the posts where people ask why they haven't announced the game time yet for some game that is six weeks into the future. The number of people who don't really pay much attention, and therefore have no clue, is a lot higher than one would think.
Yea, but the thing I never understand is how someone can be so "nerdy" to post on a message board or call a talk show but not be nerdy enough to understand basic college sports concepts.
If you're the New York Yankees, do you pick Miami or Pitt? Neither team travels well at all. And you better believe The U will turn on more TV sets than Pitt on Dec 26 at 3:30 on ABC.
More than that, Miami sells more "casual fan" tickets from locals and more fans may make the trip from the B10W school to watch their team play The U.
If Miami wants the Pinstripe, that's where they'rw going.
Orlando, is a good call and drive up. Ive never heard anything posiive or enticing about hanging out in Jacksonville for a week.I personally want Florida. Will be taking 6 tickets and staying in Orlando for a week!
Disagree about us not traveling to NY. There were 7-8k Pitt fans at both Big East Championship Games and I plan to bring 4 or 5 to the Bronx if that's where we land.
I was at a couple of those. I'd estimate 5-6K but thats for some of the best Pitt teams ever.
Miami's alumni base is mostly in the NE. The will travel better to NYC.
Its Jax or El Paso for us.
I really think Miami will opt to NOT go north. I'd like Jax against Miss. State or El Paso against UCLA..... but I think we're getting Bronx against Wisky.
Look at the B1G standings.... who goes to the Pinstripe? It *WOULD* be PSU based on B1G standings.... but it can't be PSU this year.Maybe but there is some thought they dont want Jacksonville. As for Wisky? How the heck do you see them falling that far? No way.
That makes most sense to me. These bowls know what goes on in college football, they know Chryst was our coach last season. Pitt-Wisconsin has got to sound better to them than Pitt vs. any other team we have no history against. Granted, it's not the matchup that bowls will be killing to have come to their stadiums, but it's the best that the Pinstripe can realistically come up with.Look at the B1G standings.... who goes to the Pinstripe? It *WOULD* be PSU based on B1G standings.... but it can't be PSU this year.
I think PSU and Wisconsin swap bowl slots.

Jerry Palm has Pitt falling to the Military Bowl. I don't see how that can happen, can it? Don't forget that Va. Tech might be the hottest ticket seller out of the ACC and I'm sure NYC would love to have his final game and VT's fans in the Bronx. The Belk Bowl may want them too but NC State is also a good option there. I see Miami in the Gator and Pitt in the Sun if the Pinstripe committee wants Beamer.
Oh please no, not Detroit or Shreveport or Annapolis. That would truly suck. 8-4 and end up at 1 of those crappy spots??
I wish...Pitt vs. PSU in Pinstripe. With the team records it makes sense. Plus the slots are reserved for ACC vs. BigTen. Just makes sense
