Hey guys, long time reader / first time poster. Leading up to the reveal Wednesday, I've read many different pieces of info regarding uniforms. It's already known that we will (probably) have 27 uniform combos and one alternate. However, could there be more than one?
It was said last year that we would have a alternate with "throwback" colors in the new uniforms, a mesh of the past and the present. This was put into question when a possible jersey leak was posted online, showing a throwback uni that looked awfully like the Dorsett days.
Then the leaks of clothing apparel became coming out. The Pitt Shop and the Panther Pitt have both posted pictures online of new hoodies, coming in three color schemes. One is in the navy blue/Vegas gold, one is the royal blue/mustard yellow, and another is a hybrid of the navy blue and mustard yellow that we have not yet seen/heard about yet.
Does this suggest that we may have (at least) two alternates, one a true throwback and another of the new unis in the hybrid colors, and possibly even use this in other sports for alternates? This would support both the claim made last year about a "hybrid throwback alternate" and the "leaked" uniform pictures a week ago. Maybe this has already been discussed, maybe this is new material. Regardless, it's food for though leading up to Wednesday. Hail to Pitt.
