Auburn-UNC

UNC got blowed out. Hard to believe considering both teams want to play the same style, which should’ve favored UNC.

Personally can’t stand Bruce Pearl, but I don’t think anyone would disagree that he’s a much better X and O guy than Roy Williams.

I thought it was Little that had the flu like symptoms?
It wasn’t ax’s and Os that bear UNC. It was 51 points on 17 made 3s.

Nobody would’ve beat them tonight. I doubt that happens twice. And Bruce Pearlnisnt gonna win many games that come down to coaching.

A lot of those 3s were uncontested though. Auburn is simply more talented than UNC.

Pearl isn't a bad coach. Actually, he's pretty darn good. HIs biggest problem is that he tends to be too much of a player's coach. Both on the court and off. Off the court was a freaking circus when he was at Tennessee.

Don’t think he’s great either, hard to sell Roy Williams as a great tactician though.

Hell, what do I know though? After all I thought Stew Morrill was one of the best coaches I ever saw.

Cam seemed so slow when compared to the Auburn players.
And his shot didn’t ‘seem’ as good compared to the Auburn players either. At least it wasn’t going through the rim nearly as much as for Auburn, particularly the 3’s.

Auburn was so much quicker than just about anyone in a Carolina uniform. They crushed them in the second half. Pearl looks to be a fun guy to play for. And he can coach. To say otherwise is dumb.

I find myself rooting for whomever plays UNC , as a Pitt fan I can’t get past Cams defection . Cam would never experience the success he’s had at UNC had he stayed at Pitt . Good decision for him , bad for Pitt .

I know he really transferred for academic reasons , wonder what grad degree he earned ?

Just don’t see NBA athleticism or the physicality in watching Cam play .

Conversely I find myself rooting for Duke , I just want to keep seeing Zion ball !

Think the UNC fans enjoyed that game and brand of basketball? After all, that is what this fanbase lines for for years.

You’ve been on this train about cam not being good for years. Not surprised to see you jump in.

Never said he’s not good . You don’t start at UNC if your not a very good player .

He would’ve easily been Pitts best player the last two yrs .

NBA players are rare birds just never saw that in Cam while he was at Pitt or now .

Cam will play pro ball somewhere , he could even make an NBA roster , but I don’t see him being an impact player in the NBA .

We’ll see whose right soon .

I didn’t find myself rooting for Cam after he left Pitt. That’s because he was no longer a Pitt Guy. I didn’t wish him any ill will. After what happened to that program I did not blame him one bit. It was a disgrace what happened. As much as the programs use the kids I don’t mind seeing a kid use the programs.

He's tall and he can shoot. He should make a NBA roster. I don't see him being an impact player either.

Great points here...

I cant root for Cam. He is not a “Pitt grad playing in the pros”. Could you imagine 10 years ago a Pitt player going to a Big East peer? Instead of helping Pitt get back to high end program status, he helped secure our current place as a second tier ACC team. Yes, there were bigger reasons, but He punked us. He could have gone out west or something if he didn’t want to ride it out. But sure, it was his right to do it — and its our right to not want to watch him win. Oh well. Enjoy watching Auburn.

On the other hand, I do find myself slightly pulling for Duke. I want to watch them play. I kinda want to see them lose, but that would mean I can’t see them and Zion play the next game

I always felt the real guy he showed no appreciation for was JD . TCU wanted him when he transferred from Pitt and if he owed anyone it was JD for taking a chance on him . Oh well all water under the bridge now .

One more thing , anyone who gets a D1 scholarship to play bb or Fb is a very good player some are just better than others !

I disagree with that. No player owed Jamie, or any coach that leaves for another job, anything. Jamie took a chance on him, good. Jamie took other chances that didn’t work out. It’s his job to recruit and evaluate talent.

Now saying that , I don’t blame Cam for choosing UNC over TCU or just about any other college program . I was really disappointed in him choosing to leave Pitt too because I’m a Pitt fan , but I don’t blame him Pitt was a dumpster fire . Hell I’d choose UNC over Pitt if I was being recruited by both every time . The fallacy that players choose schools for anything other than their relationship and success of the HC or an assistant is long dead and I just feel that without JD giving him a shot he’d have been in Texas playing ball at Rice . We don’t usually know how the players feel about their HC and we really don’t really know how Cam and JD related to one another . Roy does seem to be much more personable than JD and there’s no comparing the success of both coaches . Pitt was heading in the wrong direction with JD , if Pitt continued on its downward spiral and JD stayed does Cam still grad transfer ?

That's a good point. I've read on here that Cam should have shown loyalty to Pitt because they offered him a scholarship when his next best offer was Rice (or something like that). But if Cam had an Isaiah Epps career he would have been jettisoned by the program and fans wouldn't have the slightest reservation in forcing him out. Programs, players, fans, they all give and receive loyalty in roughly equal measure. Last year during our winless season Ryan Luther got praised for sticking with Pitt. Someone at the time said he was basically as loyal as his options, and indeed once he was eligible to grad transfer he immediately bailed. I do find Cam's in-conference transfer to be distasteful, but he's really just negotiating the scene that already exists.
