I have good sources at PSU and although the BWI Cult likes to make fun of Pitt and Pitt Posters, they have no clue what is happening within their own Program, just like not one Poster knew how good Barkley would be this year, but I posted it over a year ago?
Good posting comes from good information and making corrections and mistakes and not afraid to admit when you are wrong or something is wrong no one can put a finger on to explain it, so one puts out info to gain more knowledge?

Just pure speculation, but maybe it's the Shoop rumor that's been circulating?
Because he talks a great game, and high school kids are naive.
A good salesperson can sale anything - to the right audience.
If Shoop leaves the day after signing day, I would hope some of the local PITT recruits hold off on signing their LOI right away if they are a PSU lean. Shoop is about the only good thing remaining in that program.
Shoop, Spencer, and Gattis rumored to be leaving. The recruits need to know. It is not fair to them to be deceived.
I am in no way directing this toward any recruits parent, or anyone on here. But have you met many people outside your social/work circle? I work in many, many different neighborhoods with many different people and my 8 year old would be above average on a common sense test vs the adults.

It's all about flattery and promises. Some parents are suckers when a coach whispers sweet nothings in their ears about how wonderful their son is, and what _______ (fill in the blank) University will do for him. Some coaches are blatant in their approach, while others are smoother and will "read" the parents first, and tell the parents what they want to hear. And the super-smart coaches know especially to recruit mom, provided that she's in the picture.
I have a son who went thru the recruitment process (not football), and we got a taste of it. And I'm sure that what we experienced is only a fraction of what D-1 football recruitment is like.

Not disputing what's been posted but how do you guys know that Johnson&Hack didn't talk to Franklin before they declared?In every program there are players that don't exactly get along with their coaches!Just saying I know that there are a few of my former players that didn't like me after spending a few years with me!Boyd,Hack and Johnson did what they thought was right for them.Boyd loved his coaches and he left,so its not like all players leave because they hate someone.

Not disagreeing but the theme is the relationship with the coaches and in particular the head coach! When I hear Coach Franklin talk I do get the sense he is sometimes disingenuous and self centered. Some kids will want to play for him and some will not. Thanks for posting and feel free to add comment!
All I can say is worry about the next replacement just like Michigan replaced their A.D. and then Coach, and now Harbaugh not only won 10 Games with Hoke's Players but has a Top 5 Recruiting Class? Expectations are sky high as are expenses and the leashes at Penn State are not that long as they appear. New people are being sworn in higher places with more changes coming not less. The New Reforms are a Two Edge Sword and can cut both ways! Winning is not a plan but a demand!

That and parents use their kids to live out their own fantasies. What is that old saying, "living Vicariously through their kids." Even the announcers in their game yesterday were buying and spewing Franklin's crap. "Next year is the true beginning of the Franklin era because it will be the first time he will have had all of his scholarships." I heard them say.

But that is how he recruits. You should know by now that anything goes with Franklin. He is a good salesman for a reason.

Salesman seldom handle when someone one returns an item sold or has a defect, Customer Service does, and when they don't Consumer Affairs can be called in too?
At some point the Sales must depend on a good Product and when that does not happen, some Salesman get oversight they did not expect and then have to deal with it but often too late?
The Customer can still love and shop at the Store but may want to deal with another Salesman!

I don't think Recruiting will be affected at all, Penn State is Powerhouse on its own on Recruiting, before Franklin, during Franklin, and after Franklin!
It is Coaching that matters with Recruiting, and be careful what one ask for, When Hoke was replaced by Harbaugh Michigan became an instant Top 25 Team. The same would happen if Munchak would replace Franklin at Penn State in 2016 or 2017?

Robinson saw the writing on the wall at PSU just like Boyd at Pitt.Robinson knew that the line was going to be horrible at PSU the next year.Believe me players know who's good and who's not and how its going to effect the team.This being known he did what was best for himself.He didn't leave because of Franklin,he didn't know him!Boyd saw his stock drop this year because of the way he was used in Narduzzi's offense.Both knew it was time to get out of Dodge!Here again neither left because of a coach.So someone on here knows Spense and what he's going to do!Hmmmmm I sort of know him too!
