The worst part is the the assistant coach got hit with the coin AFTER Huggins (and the PA announcer before him) told the crowd to stop throwing things on the court. And that wasn't the only time their students threw things onto the court after Huggy Bear took the mic.
This means every Pitt season from 2016 to 2025 will have a game against either PSU, ND, or WVU with the exception of 2021.
My man, you don't know what the hell your talking about. I've seen it all down there in that dump star city. Top 5 party school in the nation. No work diplomas. What could possibly go wrong in an atmosphere like that. Bunch of zombi zealots, for sure.
OK, I'm guessing littlemoe's post got deleted, but is he seriously suggesting that what I posted about the "coin" game was false? Because if so, I was actually there. I know what happened. I watched the WVU students throw so much crap onto the court that the game was stopped several times. I heard the PA announcer make an announcement telling students to stop throwing stuff onto the court. I watched as more students threw more stuff onto the court, which was what prompted the refs to go to Huggins to get him to go on the PA in the clip that was posted above. I watched as student still threw stuff (although to be sure, not nearly as much or as often) even after Huggy's announcement. And I happened to be looking right at the Pitt bench during the timeout when Herrion got hit with the coin. The notion that he might have faked the whole thing that some Hoopies have propagated is absurd. Completely, utterly absurd.
The Hoopies have a much larger percentage of violent, drunken asses in their fan base than any other school I've ever been at. Part of the reason for that is the complete refusal of way too many of their fans to call out the idiots for their behavior. Which gives the idiots pretty much free reign to continue doing what they do.

I too was at that game. After the incident hit all the national news programs, there was a rumor propagated through the WVU fans that because the team benches are on the side opposite of the students, the coin must have been thrown as a "false flag" incident by Pitt fans behind our bench, with the purpose of making WVU look bad. Can't make this stuff up with WVU. They are way more delusional than even the Nitters.
wvu is a parquee matchup? fraternity rape U is not a marquee program, you are an average program in a P5 conference.. Same with pitt.. Banter between Football Programs is never reality and always more a Beyond Belief in thinking someone is better by winning a Football Game, but the true reality playing each other is better together and all should welcome seeing that happen again. I like WVU and I am just glad we are playing again, because I can enjoy a great game, win or lose! It is going to be fun!

Since 2000, the record has been 5-7 in favor of WVU. Obviously that isn't in Pitt's favor but it is hardly in line with what West Virginia fans think of the series. For whatever reason, WVU fans perceive the brawl as a one sided ass-kicking. The reality is that all but three of the past 12 games were competitive. When you consider that stretch included the "golden era" of richrod and 12 years of pitt wallowing in its own special brand of mediocrity, a 5-7 record says more about WVU than it does pitt.

I`m 73 Yrs old....And my belief is that YOUNG people in general(especially in college),don`t behave well in public....Morals are at their lowest....With that being said,I think it`s great that WVU will be playing Pitt & Penn St,and Maryland,and I think VT also....This is good football,win or lose for this region of the country that we live in.....The only better game is the Super Bowl.......

That is all well and good and you seemingly are not the problem, but even Auburn fans who went up there a few years ago and had no rivalry said it was by FAR the worst experience. These are the best of an SEC school's fans, traveling to an away game in Morgantown, so they have many comparison points. Morgantown and at least a very vocal and over the top minority ruin the entire experience for many, many visiting fans.

Yep. The sidewalk non-college grads are the problems for every school and WVU's are by far the most vile.
