Bacot back for Year 9

Yeah I don’t think he’s all that great, at least not NBA great. He’s probably getting as much or more than he would as a D League player. Not sure that he is much more than that or a 3rd center on an NBA team

Would love to see it! Good call on Tshiebwe, he fits that mold as well.

I watched Oscar up close on Sunday. Obviously a generational rebounder but has almost no offensive game that can translate to the NBA. He is basically a little taller version of DeJuan Blair.

Bacot would have been a decent NBA player in 1979. He is a huge defensive liability in the modern game though. I don't see him as a guy who would stay on a roster at all. If he's getting paid anything at UNC, which I assume he is, it's a good decision.

I think you’re selling Bacot short. He has multiple attributes that translate to the NBA. He’s an excellent rebounder, great passer and court vision, can dribble and make plays off the bounce, and is a big that can guard the perimeter.

He cannot guard the perimeter, I think that's where our disagreement lies. Go back and watch Nelly's three straight three pointers against UNC when Bacot wouldn't fight over Fede's screen.

Will do! In my mind I’m picturing this as a Bacot strength, I might be mistaken.

He's a good bully. Cool for college but not enough skill or athlete that the pros look for, especially if you can't shoot

It’s odd. Bacot seems like a guy who has an effort issue. Seems like he loves it when nobody is challenging him and he can do his schtick. But when we didn’t care about the name on the front or back of his jersey he seemed pouty.

Disagree. Bacot is too slow and doesn't move well on D to guard in the NBA. HE doesn't handle the ball well either. I believe he had 5 turnovers and Fede frustrated the hell out of him in our last game. If he ever makes a roster he will not last long.

And dont forget, Hugley made him look JV last year.

Federiko may never play in the NBA but he's a better fit for the style of play there than Bacot, even if Bacot is by the traditional measurements like PPG/RPG or conference awards the "better" college player.

The NBA is essentially Psu offense with much better shooters. Once u get a big such as Bacot on you it almost automatic points

I guess that he would rather play basketball in North Carolina than in Europe.
