Anyone heard how their development is going after their RS year?

Both kids needed to add some weight to play at DE.

Duzz has had some success with lower rated DE's developing in his program (Weaver & Jones).

Will be interesting to see if any surprises in the two deep at DE this year.

I think I read on here that Palmer is a tackle. he put on some big time weight.

no inside info, all my pitt info comes from here and I often times mis-remember it.

cue mjf insult in 3..2..1.

wow, I was right. Stolen from a CP post in march.. never doubt my memory folks, my mind is a steel trap.

That's not a lot, and the numbers are smaller than we expected. The first change was that redshirt freshman Noah Palmer moved to defensive tackle, where he can line up next to fellow Thomas Jefferson alum Devin Danielson. The other change is that redshirt freshman Habakkuk Baldonado is limited this spring, so he wasn't with the ends.

EDIT: dang, I might be posting content from pay board to free board, if so, im sorry about that. not sure the rules on quoting @Chris Peak from one board to the other.

Baldonado was out all spring with a knee injury.
so with the 4 DEs we brought in the '18 class, 1 is a DT, baldonado has been on the proverbial shelf, MImes is a TE (I am not 100% positive) and MOrgan is the only DE left. hmmm. interesting, concerning..

I know we brought 3 in last class and with the way Brandon George works out, he'll outgrow LB any minute now and possibly even Kyi Wright too so im not worried about depth in future. WIth that said, that doesn't help us out this fall.

you are going to have to go with 3 of weaver, alexandre and Jones, hope that a younger guy can step in from day one in summer camp and impress the hell out of the staff enough to trust him to play on two deep and oh yeah, the biggest thing, pray to whatever diety you believe in for no injuries..

Well if they bring in the UF grad LB, that will give flexibility to maybe use one of the LBs as a weak side end. Maybe Wendell Davis if Reynolds starts. Or Pine who played end last year.

True. But I really hope pine just wins that money spot outright and plays there.

But with injuries, you have brightwell at money with pine being able to move down. Maybe the situation isn’t as dire as I’m making it out to be.

I'm really hoping too that Pine can win the Money spot outright, that's been his best fit since day one.

Nice to see some discussion about Panther players.

I’ve also been hoping that Baldonado would work out. Sure has the frame; but not good for a raw player to get sidelined and miss so much time...

I remember at a game last season, I forget what happened, but some in the crowd were booing the team and Baldonado turned around to the crowd and raised his hands in a gesture that said “come on fans - you’re supposed to root for us, not boo us...”.

I’m rooting for you, Baldonado.

Go Pitt.

I think the overall point is that the defense will improve dramatically if they can get the right combination of talent/speed at LB and DE.
