Barnes and Pitt facility upgrades

Sam Werner is tweeting out a conversation with Barnes. To summarize:

- Pitt putting together a 10 year master plan for facility upgrades (when asked if that includes an on campus stadium, Barnes laughed and said "boy I stepped into that one!")

- New homes for Track and Field and Tennis are a top priority whether it be on campus or off campus

- Pitt is exploring putting a 360 LED scoreboard/ribbon around the upper deck of the Pete

- Pitt is going to upgrade the basketball practice facility

- Pitt is going to upgrade the swim team locker rooms and team rooms

- Said Pitt has little to no debt related to it's athletic department; said it is "tolerable" to take out loans for some of these future endevors

This Pitt admin seems to really want to upgrade not just the revenue sports, but Pitt athletics overall, while still being responsible about it. And it seems Barnes is much more accessible and open about what is going on with Pitt athletics.

I think he's pretty much putting the on-campus stadium thing to bed. It isn't in the 10 year master plan. It isn't happening.

The practice court is very blah. It definitely could use some jazzing up.

They also need to build a separate diving well. That's been in the plans for a while.
