BC Hires Earl Grant From Charleston

You know I think they should have hired Pitino but if not him, I like this hire. I liked Earl Grant during our last search but was concerned he was so South Carolina-centric. I think Grant will get BC back to respectability but its such a heavy lift to get program, with its limited budget, poor facilities, and limited fanbase to th3 NCAAT

add being overshadowed by pro teams and minus poor facilities and you have Pitt.

No Gates or Schmidt at either PSU or BC. I would have thought one of them would have landed one of those guys.

Schmidt would have been a great fit at PSU. Seems like a guy to me who will churn out competitive teams at any level. May not be flashy and may not win the conference on a regular basis but they don't care about such things as places like PSU.

Yes but we don't have an NBA team here. I actually think that's a plus for this market as we are the only real game in town when it comes to basketball (when we are winning).
Fair point. But we are also a much smaller market than Boston. If the Pens start to slide once age takes its toll and seems the Steelers are already trending that way, then Pitt bball would have a chance to be a hot ticket if we were any good.

This is the guy that I wanted during our last search BEFORE Capel was announced.
