Game was reffed by Cooper Castleberry, dean of Big 12 officials. Best memory is CC stopping a game in Boulder about 10 years ago (I think vs. Nebraska) and ordering the clearing of the Buffs student section after the future entitled threw bottles on the field. One of the great pieces of officiating in history. Could have called a forfeit but did not want to screw the Buffs players. Restored order and the game concluded uneventfully.

Anyone who wants to pin this loss on the officials should seek immediate medical attention.

DID anyone blame the loss on the officiating?

I was actually wondering why the officials made PITT play with only 4 guys on defense.

Only thing that surfaced is your insecurity...
Few bad calls but the outcome was inevitable.
OSU first first down was a bad spot.. happened at my feet.

Yeah there was a play that looked from the stands where an OSU Blitzer hit Browne in the head with his hand, but come on...not a single word was uttered about officiating when your opponent scores 7 tds on their first 7 possessions. OP is off based here

I will play.
Let me say Okla St was better than Pitt in all phases and could have scored 80 points or more. However, in watching Pitt play the various inter conference games the Big 12 officials strike me as the most corrupt officials i have seen ref games. Your so-called dean of official --Cooper Castelberry ( sounds like a cartoon character) reffed prior games at Pitt -- Neb, Texas A&M-- and those are the only games I ever recall where the refs would systematically ( without any sense of shame) influence the game through calls in critical situations. Castlberry and his crew was sent to ref the game just in case he was needed. In this instance he was definitely not needed

I still to this day don't understand why at least the P5 schools haven't gone to a national official pool. The amount of money made by playing these games they can afford to fly crews around the country. It would eliminate some of the procieved bias and create consistency between conference officiating.

No one is blaming the officials for that massacre, which went slightly worse that Apollo Creed vs Ivan Drago. Interesting story about the CU vs Nebraska game, I don't remember that.
