Big 12 = Overrated

7 out of their 10 teams got into the tournament, and only 1 advanced to the Sweet 16. Pretty funny that some people thought they were the best basketball conference. In reality they are the 4th best.

They had 8 teams that were roughly between the 15th and the 45th in the country and 2 more that were Top 100 teams. The metrics say that is an unbelievably great conference. The numbers LOVE and I mean LOVE the Big 12 because all the teams are kinda good. But common sense tells you that unless you have some real heavyweights at the top, your league isnt that good. But the numbers are the numbers and the Big 12 will get 60%-70% of their teams in forever while the best conference, the ACC gets 50% or less. Swofford needs to address this somehow.

As I said before, it depends on what you are looking for. If you think that the best conference is the one with the team(s) with the best chance to win the championship then that isn't the Big 12, at least not this year. And it's fine for people to judge it that way, but that isn't really the best way to judge which conference is the best. Nobody thinks that the AFC East is the best division in football even though year after year they have the championship favorite in it. Because people realize that the strength of the conference depends on all the teams in it, not just the best teams in it.

I argued with you, and I think the NCAA's proved it out. My point was the Big 12 was "down" this year in a discussion of TCU or Oklahoma's "worthiness" of being selected.

I know all of the metrics because their bottom teams are generally higher ranked than most of the conference's bottom teams. But a whole lot of mediocrity, at least in my opinion, doesn't trump the strength or lack of in the top teams.

The Big 12 has been one of the top conferences, but when KU is a 4 seed, Texas and WVU down and out, Iowa State too, and OU, Baylor fairly middling NCAA teams, and Texas Tech is your bellwether, I am sorry, the conference is really down this year.

And I have agreed with you all season. Unfortunately, the NCAA prefers leagues where most of the teams are ok but dont have any great teams over leagues with a lot of great teams and a lot of bad teams

The last place Big 12 team beat Pitt
You are comparing the 15th team in their conference to a team who finished 10th. Texas Tech is the only team that would finish in the Top 6 of the ACC. Kansas got worse as the year went on and was average by the end of the year.

Yeah, that is the basis of my comments. True, the bottom of the Big 12 is better than the bottom of the ACC. But the ACC also goes to 16 teams. The mere fact that likely one of the top Big 12 teams would only be in the top 6 of the ACC is not indicative of a strong conference. I mean, the Big 12 is always historically good, but this year was a down year.

Joe Lunardi is a pathetic loser LOL
Go back 3 weeks ago and listen to that blowhard talk about the BIG 12

You would have thought he was their commissioner.
